Crops not growing when not playing

been waiting 2 irl days now for my pumpkins to grow. but the game just doesn't do it. You need to play for hours for them to grow at all. Why?

Pumpkins take 4 hours to grow, but need to be watered multiple times during that time. If you're not there to water them when they need it, then they won't grow.

yeah if I remember correctly, they need watering every 2 hours. They normally ask before they fully grow to be watered.

Yeah, apparently, the rain buff doesn't work properly. It seems to work while it's raining, but whenever it stops, the crops just become dry again (they look like they're still watered, but that's a visual bug). Also, someone in a different thread said that the growth timers for the crops are a bit off during rain (can't confirm because that never seems to be the case for me).
