No Cloud save & manual save

No matter what I try the game just doesn't seem able to save to the cloud.

Not sure what is going on there to be honest, I registered and everything as prompted to at the beginning, and I haven't had issues with that for other games on Steam. (I've disconnected House Flipper from cloud saving myself, because as everyone knows that have played that game, cloud save will mess you up)

I get the message instead that my game is saved locally, which, fine, I'm only using this one computer anyway - I have no other option to try if I wanted to - BUT!
Where are the save files located? What do they look like?

I am super nervous that one day the cloud save WILL kick in, and - this is the House Flipper experience talking - wipe weeks of progress if not put me right back on square one.
So, for my own peace of mind if nothing else, I'd like to do what I do for HF, namely have my own, manually copied, backup stored someplace else, just in case something were to go wrong.

Can someone tell me where to look for the save files, and what they look like?

this has been happening to me since yesterday. 2 days ago the cloud saves my game but since yesterday it gives the error. i think for now we are safe just don't load the cloud and you are alright. save locally until they fix it. the cloud save meant to be for changing device or account. but local save it stays there don't worry just in any cases don't load the cloud for now. wait to be sure they fix it and you save to cloud.

I play on PC and Xbox. Loading to Xbox box yesterday it loaded old local save.
Then exiting out and back it prompted to pick which save to use local or cloud and shows the date of last save and play time. so just make sure if it prompts you pick the correct newer save.

I'm just worried a future successful cloud save will wipe out the progress, i e wipe out the local save to replace with a new one (since I don't have a cloud save from the start). So I would like to make a backup of the local save, just in case. I've had to replace my save with such a backup save for HF before, and while that probably wouldn't happen with this game, it would just feel safer.

no don't worry, as long as you don't cross play or load your save either in your account or another account or another device you are good. just play with your PC don't go near cloud save and every time you play just click continue.

play on one device until they sort this out. i already sent a message regarding issue to devs support website of the game. if you want to talk to them just search dreamlight valley support.

OK, that makes sense. Is there a setting to keep the game from trying to reach the cloud on its own though?

no it will not reach it by it's own if you don't miss with it. cause when you are in the menu and you hit continue it will load local save for the device that has the local save. and when you quit it says your game will be saved locally. so just as i was saying play local save it won't go away unless you are attempting to miss with cloud save.

I'm having this issue as well, I sent a thing through to them to let them know, they said they were working on it, but that was at least a week ago. (Before first update) I registered my email and all that, but I have never managed to even create the first cloud save. It gives me the thing it does you, Saved Locally but not uploaded. I hope they or someone comes up with a fix
