What to do if your quest is broken?

Do i have to wait until they eventually fix the bug sometime next year?
Cause there didn't seem to be any other way from my searches.

Which quest are you having a problem with? If you gave us a little more information, we might be able to tell you if there's a workaround or possibly someone here can tell you what they did to resolve it.

Its the Moana boat bug. I checked old threads and their webpage obviously, but the only information available is that its a known bug since the game launched.

so my quest has been on hold do to a glitch in the game. in the dreamlight valley you are allowed to have up to 600 items place down in the valley. Well in my game i only have 286 items place down and the game is reading it as full. i can't even put down Prince Erics how because of this glitch. is there anything i could do because i don't want to have to restart this game and lose the 167.7 hours i have put into this game. Please fix this problem so i can move on in the game i have worked so hard to get where i'm at in the game and i really don't want to lose it all to this glitch.

Do you have a bunch of rocks, twigs, and flowers laying around? That seems to be counting against people even though it isn't supposed to.

I'm not familiar with the Moana boat bug- what's wrong with it?

When you fix the boat, a crystal is supposed to drop, but for alot of people it doesn't. seeing how its classified as a known bug.

However i found a post on reddit where they found it in a random corner of the game, so i searched the entire map, and eventually found it in the corner behind the fence thats behind my house and the plaza.

so good news and bad news, good news i figured what the problem was and bad new i had to restart the game. i remembered before i went to collect all my pumpkins, which was like more then 1000+, i put Minnie (who i placed as my gardener helper) in a fence in area. then went to go and collect well where i had her was right by the players house and Minnie let all the extra 1000 + pumpkins where i was couldn't fit all the extra pumpkins and it glitch the game. i moved the building to make sure i got them all but i think some glitch off the map and the game wasn't letting me put items down do to the pumpkins i can't find/ get. so i had to restart my game its sad but i learned not to collect so much at once with i have a character trapped. and hope others don't do it too

Not sure where you're getting this, the only thing they've sold is the DLC last year. Buying moonstones is pointless, they give away so many.

I am having a problem with the wanderer of the dunes quest. I am unable to get the key out of the quicksand. It keeps sending me around the pile but won’t let me use the hourglass to retrieve it!

Serious question: why put more than 100 pumpkins at once? My farm is only a 10x10 square (100 pumpkins), and I have more than enough to buy whatever I want from Scrooge's shop AND other 100 pumpkin seeds.

Have you tried fishing it out? I can't remember specifics on that quest, but I remember there were a couple of quests in the Rift area where you had to fish out the items.
