Which Fish?

Can I tell which fish I'm missing for the "Catch Different Types of Fish" task? It says I'm at 19/20, but I have caught every type of fish in the game except the Sunlit Plateau fish (because you can't). Fish collection is at 25/25, so I don't know which one I'm missing.

Probably the Fugu. You can only catch it on Dazzle Beach in one of the gold fishing spots during a storm. The last 3 I caught were all during a thunderstorm, although I thought I had also caught one during just a regular rain storm (no lightning and thunder), but your best bet seems to be during a thunderstorm.

I have the same problems - my fish collection says 25/25, but I've also only caught 19/20. It's not the Fugu, because I've actually caught that one. I think it's probably a Sunlit Plateau fish.

I have a fugu in my chest, and I'm pretty sure Moana's boat doesn't ever carry it. I've been trying to catch another one to see if it just didn't register the first time, but I've been unsuccessful so far.

Moana's boat has brought me Fugu, so I know you can get them from her boat, and those don't count towards the "caught" requirement.

It's probably the Walleye. You cannot catch that one currently, you can only get it from Moana's boat. It's only catchable in the Plateau, and there's no fishing spots there.

The Fugu you can catch in the ocean while it's raining.

So I spent the day trying to catch all the fish again. I was able to catch all 24 (including the elusive fugu) and I still only have 19/20. My only conclusion is that the seaweed and seafood fish don't count, and this can't be completed until they add the ability to fish at the plateau to catch the walleye.

It would be nice if they split the fish into two categories under collections, or three to add a seaweed category.

If anyone has completed this, I'd like to hear about it.

Your conclusion is correct. Until they add the ability to fish in the Sunlit Plateau so we can actually catch the Walleye, we won't be able to complete this. Collections shows that we have all the fish because Moana brought us some Walleyes from her boat, so it's counted there, but since we didn't actually catch it, the Walleye is not counted under our dreamlight fishing duties.

You can obtain the Walleye in Moana's boat, but the game doesn't count it as a "catch".

Read the OP again. This is about the TASK, not the COLLECTION.

It requires you to catch 20 different types of fish, which we have determined is impossible at the moment.
