so relax
1. This game is so fun that the fact that I was playing with a "female" character barely crossed my mind.
2. Female spiders are way bigger than male spiders, so logically female spiders should be stronger than males, so I don't mind my girl rescuing me as long as she does not LITERALLY eat my ass after having sex!!!
Though spider among other arachnids and invertabrates (predation on sexmate is rather uncommon) will always try to have a nice course after intercourse, this isn't a rule.
There are many species that won't attack partner and some even live in groups and colonies.
Generally if there's a big gap in terms of size difference(which is true for nearly all species) - male's gone.
Webby from the game is a jumping spider though, and they are known for many unbelievable things and even though every now and then some male will end up on the wrong side of web cocoon they generally pecefull towards each other.
The happy dance from game
Those dances were developed to prevent being killed.
I love findding informative post on random forum on the internet. Thanks.
The moth at the start calls the player 'buddy' directly several times, and used that way is usually a towards-a-male thing...like 'Hey buddy, lend me a hand?'
He means that in some languages like Russian (all slavic btw) and Proto-Indo-European in general have masculine and feminine pronouns. It means that one word that refers to character always defines the gender (plus in slavic lang. one word can describe gender, time, status - what's happening to person/object).
That applies to every noun doesn't matter if it's Her majesty Queen or a trash in the floor.
