In this devlog, we’re sharing a general development progress report. Much has changed in Kingso since the last devlog - systems became deeper, visuals more expressive, and the world more dynamic.

• Biomes:
  Water movement, animated environments, and more immersive ambiance across regions.
  
• Domains:
  Around 30 nations and 200 territories now shape the continent’s political and cultural landscape.
  
• Creatures:
  At this stage, only slimes are implemented - various types adapted to different environments. Despite their simplicity, they already feature distinct habitats, behaviors, and stats. This lays the foundation for a richer creature ecosystem in future updates.
  
• Dialogues:
  Visual elements such as character portraits, background art, and dynamic text flow are now fully implemented. Choices affect interaction outcomes.
  
• Quests:
  The Adventurer’s Guild is now functional. Players can accept and complete tasks, build squads, and explore the world.
  
• Saving System:
  The core mechanic - one life. Autosaves are now active and bind tightly to the player’s progression.
  
• Sound Effects (SFX):
  Interface sounds and ambient game world audio now provide a more responsive and atmospheric experience.
  
• Settings:
  Added support for 15 major languages, with plans to expand localization in future updates. A basic control guide is now available to help new players get started. Additionally, new settings have been introduced for audio and rendering, allowing for better customization of the experience.

Quite a lot will be expanded in upcoming updates. The world of Kingso is turning into a rich, multi-layered experience with meaningful exploration and storytelling.

This version is already playable - players can explore the continent and complete guild quests.

Future updates will focus on expanding gameplay beyond combat, squads, and quests, introducing mechanics that enhance freedom of choice and personal storytelling.

Introduction

Hello everyone, today we're going to talk about the story of Kingso. The game itself offers different playstyles, and the story is more of an additional element that describes the world of the continent of Avelir. You'll be able to choose your own path in the game, and this is what makes the story unconventional in the traditional sense: there is no predefined "correct" ending.

Story

Avelir, once a prosperous continent, experienced the greatest catastrophe in its history. A magical cataclysm destroyed the old great kingdoms, disrupted the balance of power, and freed ancient forces that are once again interfering with the fate of mankind.

By the time of the game, Avelir is:

• Fragmented lands where dozens of kingdoms, factions, and orders vie for power;
  
• Pirates, shadowy alliances, thieves, and mercenaries weaving their own intrigues;
  
• Ruthless lands: from the snow-covered northern peaks to the impassable swamps and forests;
  
• The chance to influence the future of the world through actions, decisions, and alliances.

The world of Avelir is harsh and unpredictable: even powerful kingdoms are susceptible to betrayals, uprisings, and secret alliances.

The Player's Role and Goals

In Kingso, you are not a passive observer. The world does not exist for you; you are a participant in it. Your character is an outsider: a person from another world, mysteriously thrown into Avelir. You only have one life in the game. If your hero or companion dies, there will be no second chance. You may be lucky to survive the blows of fate, but the cost of a mistake is absolute.

You will begin your journey without influence, without allies, and without knowledge of the world. You will need to earn reputation, find companions, fight monsters, and sometimes – survive at all costs.

In this world, only those who can see more than meets the eye succeed. Every choice has a price. Sometimes an irreversible one.

A Living World

Avelir is not a static backdrop. While you explore the world, life continues around you:

• Factions form alliances and wage wars independently of you;
  
• Pirates and monsters raid and attack;
  
• Rumors and events arise from actions – even without your involvement.

The world of Avelir continues to live, change, and fight for the future. The living Avelir does not forgive those who live in the past. Today, a neutral faction may become your sworn enemy tomorrow. And a random event at the other end of the continent can ruin everything you've built.

To wrap up, I want to talk about the price of Kingso. The game used to cost only 1 dollar in the earliest stages of development. The goal back then was clear: to make the project accessible to everyone and gradually develop it together with the community.

Today, Kingso costs 4 dollars, and this is completely justified. This price is directly tied to the increase in the quality of the game. At the moment, it is the only game in the world that combines a fantasy-medieval setting, a unique graphic style, and a large-scale development of gameplay mechanics.
