Its a reference to the Freddie Mercury (lead singer of the band queen) album Mr.badguy (also Freddies nickname) both in game and out game lore wise with sol keeping the moniker after being called it. Also his first name "Fredrick" (Sols actual first name) is also a reference to Mr.Mecury.

Supposedly the old Sol "strut" when he walked with the backwards sword (the handle slightly mimicking a micro phone) is also based on the way he would strut around on stage.

It also often lists his "favorite things" or activities as listening to queen and its supposed to be Daisukes Ishiwataris favorite band. He also voiced him for a long while.

Also his old theme "keep yourself alive" and "keep yourself alive II" are both named directly after the queen song "keep yourself alive" and are stylistically similar.
