Let's talk about Dizzy's new design...

First of all, I'm a massive Dizzy fan, since GGX, and I'm very happy and grateful she's finally coming to this latest game. I'm sure we all Dizzy fans will have a blast playing as her.

That said, about her new design... I'm not saying she's been censored (that might or not be the case) but I feel she's lost her identity a little bit too much.
I know she's a queen now, she looks BEAUTIFUL in the concept art, but: was it necessary to change and cover her this much?

Let me elaborate:
Dizzy is my favorite character in fighting games. When I talk about her with people, I always say she's this heavy metal inspired monster girl (Gear, yeah) that looks super powerful and intimidating, but has a heart of gold, the purest of thoughts, and loves every living creature on Earth... nonetheless, she could make the End of Times happen if she ever wanted to (but she never will).
Dizzy is about contrasts. She's DANGEROUS, but harmless. Beautiful and sexy, but innocent and loving. Awesome to look at in battle, but hard to play and master.
Of course now she's matured, we already saw that in Xrd Rev 2, but I don't think she would leave her old self that far away in the past.
In Xrd Rev 2 she wore an elegant dress and then, before coming into battle, it turned into her awesome and characteristic fighting attire, a brand new one, but similar enough to her X's original.

Well, that's just me.
I hope her designers can achieve a good balance between Queen Dizzy and Good Old Dizzy until she arrives, in therms of visual identity, gameplay, and even acting.

Elphelt was covered up a fair bit from her previous design. I'm not a huge fan of the character either way to be honest, but it is what it is. The last character who was female/woman to not be covered up was in Season 1, with Baiken... and we all know the endless internet spitstorm that caused. I assume ASW pays close attention to the western responses, and passed along the unhappiness over Baiken's design to daisuke and that explains why they nixed the boobage going forward. Does it really matter...? Not really, but it did happen.

Bridget's fanbase is annoying, but it's somewhat clear (along with Testament.) That this was somewhat always supposed to be the case.

Even if forcing it through without really changing her background to account for it doesn't paint the greatest picture. Testament does the "I took some time and thought it through." A lot better in that regard.

My big thing is, you did NOT just say Elphelt is more covered up than in Rev 2.

They took her out of a wedding dress, moved the low cut to a side cut, and show off her thighs more. She's actively LESS covered up.

All you're doing is complaining that the character doesn't conform to your specific tastes with that one, lmao. If you're a chest guy, go coom over I-No, or I'm sorry, the side doesn't do it for you. Baiken's always there, man.

I don't quite get the question, but if you mean she might do that at the end of the day, maybe?
That said, concept art shows her fighting with the full dress and potential pants on.

Testament going from masculine build to not is a stupid design choice, but whatever. Still better than anything we got in Season 2.

Elphelt is definitely covered up as far as boobs go. That was my point.

I-no too was more covered up, i.e. censored, than her previous iteration or her strive concept art. Have you seen the concept art for the game? Testament was burly in that, as well. Wonder why they got changed?

Baiken is what brought on the spitstorm to begin with. As I said, since Baiken, name one female character not covered up from their previous iteration.

It's highly unlikely they went to the trouble of drawing multiple images of artwork and revealing it only to have her strip down. You're on some serious COPIUM right now, son.

I never once mentioned Baiken as far as older designs. Baiken is a nutcase psychopath murderer (at least in X and XX) so I couldn't care less one way or the other about her.

Nice to see you complaining about Baiken though. It's nice to see more evidence of people throwing a spitfit over the character since Xrd and again in strive.

I have played this game for 3 days. Bought it to play this beta.
And due to now being a solid time to enter the series with their clear investment towards a future. One of clear success to invest time into, in kind.

Elphelt is 100% not covered up. In exactly the ways she should be.
Wearing a wedding dress as she (did) in previous entries.

Really screams immaturity and is a large turnoff for many people to enter the series.
When that is the norm and not a singular design ethos appropriate to context.

Like say... You fight during her wedding, rips her dress, then uses you as the bouquet toss.
Typical "normal" levels of fantasy in your non-imitating entertainment product.

Her right now. Is something they can get young women my age and younger.
To cosplay by its actual relevance to "normality" in dress and preference.

Ie those whom do and will make or break a series. For the rest of their existence.
As is clear. In current year free advertising rules Comiket and western Instagram alike.

Its not about fetishisticism that may have been allowable in the time before I was born.
Not withstanding most younger than me.

As we clearly have no issue with that. Its all fantasy to us.

But healthy, and desirable. Are more relevant avenues of fantasy then ever.

Elphelt's entire skirt length to her punk idol personality swings.
Is a really good design ethos.

Versus what I imagine an intentended throw away character. Who fits a disconnected alice in wonderland motif. Of a young woman running around in her wedding dress.

For reasons not particularly expansive, for the series as a whole. Especially not in person.
During, and for promotion opportunities of their game. Which an Idol, does.

It's sad that because of so called "norms" nowadays we have to deal with bulls**t censorship. Hope mods will solve this issue for some extent and bring back her older design, it's a shame that it won't look as good as before because they changed the basic design of female characters bodies so they look more bulky now, idk how to describe it

I don't know why people always complain about fighting game characters when their designs have been covered more. Your priorities are in the wrong spot worry about gameplay and pricing if you want skimpy outfits or straight up P*rn go play DOA or do a google search.
