Save Data "Corrupted"
Over the weekend, I was picking up the game after basically months of not playing it. I was in training mode for what felt like 20 minutes, exited out and had a pop up saying that it couldn't save the progress made in training mode. Seemed weird, but since it gave me the option to not save, I chose that since I retried saving multiple times. Dunno what they even record as "progress" when you're just labbing. First time seeing a popup like that.

I close the game and open it up a day later, with a pop up saying that the save file has been corrupted and that the only option to progress forward to the main menu is deleting the save file and making a new one. I presume this means erasing Gallery collectibles, Avatar aesthetics, Mission Mode Completion and even online ranking. I don't really want to lose all of that.

Has anyone else had this issue, or can offer some type of advice or solution? Maybe the two events aren't correlated in some way and it's a different problem altogether? Thank you for the consideration.

Sadly, if your save file is corrupted, you will have to start all over (though I assume online progress is saved, since that's server sided), however, there is a way to possibly get your progress back.

In the main menu, go into "Settings" -> "System Settings" -> "Sync R-Code with server". (The text box mentions that it'll "Download the R-code on the server and apply it to the R-Code in your Save Data. Use this feature when the save data is lost or corrupted." Try using that first if you had any progress synced with the server before.)

If anything, make a backup (or 2, just in case) of your non-corrupted save file by going into C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Local\GGST\Saved\SaveGames\<folder with numbers> then copy/paste the folder with numbers to a different location, so that next time, if something were to happen to your save data, you can use your backup save to continue where you once were. (Though you may need to toggle the steam auto-cloud settings here and there to make sure that the non-corrupted save data works fine if you get it working properly.)

That's a shame, but thank you for the advice on what to do. Just agree to "start new save file" and then Sync R-Code with Server. I'll do as you mention and update here if it worked once I'm able to boot up the game again. Hopefully this trial and error will be helpful to someone else.

I tried this method and unfortunately yes, I did lose Missions, Gallery Items and Avatar Aesthetics but I did get to keep my R Code so there was that. Funnily enough I got my favorite track Birthday Train back after only a couple of rolls so I suppose I'm not too upset for the loss. Will definitely make a backup of this save file though. Thank you for your help.

were you able to press continue with keyboard?
There is a workaround if you have a keyboard. If you have friend with controller - you can create remote play together session an they will be able to press "yes" or "no"
That sounds wonderful, how can I delete my save files on demand? Would be super helpful when learning new characters as u could play on all the tower floors.

Your floor placement is located on Strive's servers; deleting your save file will not change your floor placement.
