People hate Faust not because he's weak , they took away to much fun stuff and mixmixmix is one of the worst moves is have ever seen in any fighting game.
I mean, how can you remove Pogo stick his most iconic move and replace it with something so boring and bad, that's actually an achievement.
The problem is his mixup game only work if enemy got afro, before u just put pogo and that's it.
I don't know why the trumpets spawns closer to you're opponent. I hate this ♥♥♥♥♥♥ item so much.
They want you to play the poke away game and keep you're opponent at distant but this don't work, because his buttons are too slow , his midrange options are ass, his close range options are ass, and his far options are just ok.
Characters like chip , giovanna , may , sol , millia they just steamroll you.
On top, he has the worst supers in the entire game.
And NO DAMAGE.
He was a good character in the Beta but they removed everything for whatever reason.
They could make him throw items when he does mixmixmix maybe 1-2 , because he was able to throw items from his pogostick. That would make mixmixmix + RC a option to get in and get maybe some items to start his offense without being forced to throw items in neutral.
Or cancel his super for a grab/command grab
I mean all other characters spend there meter for 60+% dmg combos and Faust gets a grab .. yeah very dangerous.
Then tell me how do i play like Axl when I don't have his buttons or tools i can't poke people away

You can just dash block against Faust and you are in ,he has nothing to stop people from moving forward, unlike axl.
And if you miss one of his bigger buttons , you need to RC to make it safe because the recovery is so long that you're opponent can get a dash in ,to punish on you. Its actually stupid.
Playing like a clown and goofing around , doing random scarecrows in neutral , item toss spam , this stops working at higher floors.
Don't get me wrong, I still have fun with him , but most of the time the fun comes from people just being bad or ignoring items.
That's completely fine, and I am also not a pro or very good.
Faust is the only reason I play this game, and he's still the most fun for me.
It's just bothers me that he was a lot better in the Strive beta and then they took a lot of stuff away for no reason.
Gatlings are limited/very specific.
Can only deal significant damage when employing character/weight class specific combos.
Reliant on universal mechanics to deal with any kind of pressure.
RNG.
More RNG.
RNG items sometimes do nothing.
No real way to get people off him, no matter how much resources you have banked and what items you have in play.
Normals are very awkward.
Overdrives are really, really bad value, even when you get super lucky and 1-hit Bridget.
Poor to extremely weak durability, depending on the game. Almost always in the lowest bracket.
Those have always been there, however. New in Strive:
Meter hungry for very little gain.
Some RNG items are strictly bad.
No replacement for the pogo poke attacks, like the close and far flower.
New, more complicated mini-Faust isn't a suitable replacement for the multiple more basic mini-Fausts from previous games.
He has some really huge pros that no one wants to touch upon, and they're a lot more accentuated in Strive:
His buttons are very big and do lots of damage, with strange and/or powerful hit properties.
His baka hitboxes are a big boon, Anyone who tells you otherwise is lying.
Supreme air-to-ground with Strive's version of LOVE!
Access to essentially unmissable guard crush through meteors.
Hook and fish autocombo is so scary, it's virtually guaranteed people will burst to break it.
Very powerful in the air, which translates to very powerful when you employ the dust well, which is really nice since his dust is multi-functional and super good.
Can crawl under pretty much every 'true mid' and most projectiles that currently exist in Strive.
Gets setups and options without the player needing to think.
Afro item.
Arguably the character that benefits the most from the new roman cancel system. There's very little he can't accomplish with 50% tension.
Command grab inflicts afro, has good range, and also deals damage, with potential for followups, unlike most others.
Knockdowns are a dime a dozen.
