Whilst some features from Wasteland 2 are missing, this isn't always a bad decision. Some skills have been combined, such as lockpicking and safecracking. If you ask me, I saw little reason in the separation of those skills in Wasteland 2, other than making the skills system seem artificially deep. Wasteland 3 is more interested in modernising its Fallout-esque experience, and I believe this game does it very successfully.

The music is my absolute highlight of this game. Mark Morgan, you should ask for better pay because you wholeheartedly deserve it. Amongst a sea of games that pride themselves on the soundtrack, none of those genres ever spoke to me. This - this game gets it so right. Seriously, this game does a fantastic job.

Combat is good fun, though can feel a little unbalanced at times. Surprise party wipes that I could do little to combat occurred a few times, but not enough for it to be a significant issue for me.

The writing is stellar. It's a massive improvement from Wasteland 2. The patriarch, Neil Buchanan, is a very well-written character. The factions are fantastic. The humour is top-notch, and the cult that worships Reagan is a particular highlight. Though such is the curse with Wasteland 2, the ending felt abrupt. The ending conflict needed to be a longer battle, and I felt the various factions could have had more presence in the conflict.

An InXile motif is their quality in world and location design. Once again they are good, but maybe the weakest we have seen from InXile. This isn't to say the design is poor, it is still very good. Locations are unique, detailed and visually beautiful. Yet they can feel linear, and small. For me, it's a downgrade from Wasteland 2.

If you want that classic Fallout isometric experience with modernised systems, tooltips and graphics, this is it. It's friendly to new players, so please don't feel intimidated if isometric RPGs are something that is alien to you. This is a great introduction to the genre, and well worth your time.

A very... shoddy game with most of the mechanics not working as I would expect them to that's also full of cringe. No idea how this is Very Positive, there are so many better games in this genre these days

This game was excellent. I played the whole thing with a friend and it was great! Every moment was excitement, or hilarity, or some kind of "holy crap no way" feeling of the story revealing the chaos of the wasteland.

Play this in co-op with a friend who really enjoys strategy combat, world map exploration, and a fun, dynamic, and touching story.
