I didn't want to spoil the update by making the changelog public, but if you load the preview version, you can find it in About > Changelog.
Hold up, you mean relocating an object can cause an explosion? If yes, this is unexpected, but I never found a report about it if there was one.
To prevent explosions caused by device malfunctions you can install consumable Fuse upgrades, then the upgrade gets destroyed but the device remains OK.
It was a bug with insta-relocating objects (sandbox mode instant relocation or changing rotation or moving a multi-tile in a way that it would overlap itself.) triggering the "Construction Disaster" story event.
The bug is fixed in v0.12.0-rc41.
Well done!
You can't really trust the statistics anymore, since Microsoft has even infected the electorial system of America :/
The asteroids with mineable rocks or signals are the outcome of "event" sectors, when you enter a sector that says "Point of interest" you get a space event plus those asteroids.
This is also reserved for future content, since it can turn into anything else too. Like encounters with other ships when ship to ship combat will be added. And more variety and new biomes can be added with future content updates and mods.
cool, thanks!
If you got platinum as a starting resource, you likely selected a difficult starting region, and you should have seen a warning saying that this region is going to be a difficult start.
In any case, this is an easy to fix balance issue, in-game bug reports help with that.
It's difficult to find the right balance between running out of something too quickly and having too much of everything, it depends on play style and player's expectations. v0.12 is more resource strapped initially, but if you don't expand your ship too soon, focus on establishing space travel capabilities and invest into renewable energy early on, you shouldn't run out of steel plates.
It's also possible you selected a starting region that didn't have a hyperjump relay, that locked you in the region. In latest v0.12 builds there is a validation that would disallow such a starting location.
There's also an online shop that you can use to order raw materials to be delivered for you, and the initial quests now give quite significant amount of cash once you complete them.
