I’m giving up on version v0_12
I’ll try to keep it short: in version v0_12, I generally find myself bored, and this is mainly due to three reasons:

The lack of "external" events: After a while, I noticed there’s only one type of interesting event, like invasions/attacks (excluding hacking) or meteor showers when entering a system. Once this type of event is over, you’re left with incidents that only serve to waste your time: mutinies, random equipment failures, fires, diarrhea… These are the worst events in the game because overcoming them yields absolutely nothing, unlike the first type, which can reward you with resources, robot components, weapons, etc.

The problem is that the first type of events becomes predictable as they depend directly on your movements. If you stay long enough in the same system (for mining, for example), only repetitive and punitive events will occur, making them predominant and ever-present. These events sometimes cost me more resources than I manage to gather, causing the game to stagnate for hours due to the slow resource collection.

The lack of resources:
I understand that the game was considered too easy by its developer, and that one way to make it more challenging was to further limit resources. The logic is sound, but the change is drastic. You go from relatively simple resource gathering to mining fixed deposits of stones in each system, which then have to be processed with an unfavorable conversion ratio.

It’s also frustrating to fly over dozens of planets and hundreds of unexploitable asteroids. It feels like the entire universe has been looted before we arrived. The only solution to this constant lack of resources (especially in the early and mid-game) is to move around frequently, which is supposed to address my first point. And yet...

Movement and jumps:
As the major novelty in this update, I understand this system is still subject to change. However, here’s what I think is wrong with it. First, movement has become tedious. Each jump feels like it requires an excessive number of actions (barely an exaggeration), and frequent pauses are needed because you don’t have enough resources to build more thrusters. The idea of "1 thruster = 1 jump" drives me mad.

On top of that, there seems to be a 50% chance one of your thrusters will explode at startup, making the entire movement system unbearable. Finally, some high-risk systems lack FTL stations, making your scans useless if an interesting deposit is located there. You’re then forced to rescan several regions away due to bad spawns, which only adds to the frustration.

In conclusion: The addition of the new jump system, combined with the nerf to resource deposits, completely disrupts the gameplay, making it unappealing. However, the main reason I’m quitting is still the lack of varied and engaging events. After 20 hours of gameplay, as I was nearing the endgame, I had only been attacked 4-5 times by pirates. Meanwhile, the main cause of death for my colonists was… mutinies and diarrhea.

I’m quitting my game on this version. For the first time in 220 hours of gameplay. What a shame.
I’ll probably come back when all of this is somewhat balanced.
Sorry, that was anything but short...

Again, I kind of concur. I'm fully aware mods will break. Especially with Early access games. It's kind of a given. Mods weren't available for Satisfactory for... I think it was nearly two weeks? It was at LEAST several days do, probably a week.

Ofcourse, Satisfactory went from EA to full release. It was a big update. My point is, that mods breaking are fine. However, if you get a final product, with say, a thousand mods, but 500+- haven't been updated in a long time and are either broken or don't work as they should anymore. The remaining 500 could be functional or they could do things you aren't interested in.

You'd be surprised how picky you get with a large amount of options.

I think we should remind ourselves that yes, both satisfactory and stardeus are "indie" but that's the only thing they have in common :aunope:

I've been to Coffee Stain Studios in skövde, it's HUGE and they employ like ~50 people... I've also seen Spajus office. It's a single room :aurip: :tobdog: so yeah it might take a *little longer* than two weeks or so, depending on the workload or bugs that might come up even after *updating* the mod structure since it's up to the modders to work on their mods and a looot of other variables.

Just wanted to chime in and... you know... Let's lower our expectations on a little haha :meatytears:
I think you misunderstood. I mentioned satisfactory only for the mods and how long it took to update them. I'm aware that they're much bigger and have a lot more personnel. I'm prepared to wait for it.

This is often due to a confrontational approach to customer relations.

Could you expand on this? In what way were I confrontational? :happymeat:
Any way to save your ship from 0.11 to 0.12?

It's not recommended because the balance will be way off, but there is a hidden setting that you can toggle to enable loading old saves.

While in Main Menu, open console with ~ and execute the following command:

settings set_global allow.old.saves true
Hey mate, I get usage error when using the command settings set_global allow.old.saves true

My bad, the correct command is:

settings set_global bool allow.old.saves true

Having EVERYTHING rare just kills creativity, the same as everything being "same ratio"

Let's take RimWorld for example. It's been I while I've played it, but I remember my first few hours with the game very well. It felt like I was punched in the face. I barely survived a few days at first, the next run lasted a bit longer, next one more so, another one punched me in the face in a different way again. I had to put in a lot of hours to overcome my skill issue and to learn how to play it properly. I always wanted this type of experience in Stardeus. The fact that you can start the game as a new player and have a 20 hour run without having to restart makes the game inferior in my eyes. Challenge makes it fun. People somehow don't complain about RimWorld being too hard, although it is definitely very difficult to get into and to play.

I don't play RimWorld because of this I work 50-60 hours a week and enjoy your game because I could have a chill game session you should find another way to make things difficult variability in play is more appropriate than everyone is going to have to struggle and get over it because that's what I want as a developer and on a side note you killed the space vibe with that new interstellar map
Well, you can never please everybody so...
I put my frustrations with v0_12 into some constructive suggestion threads; however I think a bit of an epiphany about what sort of replacement I would LIKE to see might also help solve everyone else's issue too. It gives a framework that allows for constructive solutions.

Im with this game nearly from the beginning, Buyed it in Dec. 2022 and it was allways fun to play this game. A game were killing was not the main event. Sometimes not easy and sometimes I had to restart the game because some of my decissions were not right, but it was ok and it was fun.
But the last updates killed the vibe, the traders, gone, the planets, gone, the system map with planets, gone. Now the Space filght between the systems also gone.
Maybe I have a card game with the next update? Or another headles killing game? There are a lot of killing and war games on steam. But not very much where you dont have permanent killing and war. In this times we have enough killing and war in the world. It was great to trade, research and mine to make your day.

There were a lot of tihings I liked very much, the thing that I can modify my bots, that I can replace body parts of colonists, really great Ideas. Not to much micromanagement, very good.
But the thing with the last Update that I start with half of the tech tree, very bad Idea.
I had this with a lot of games I buyed, at some point you get all from beginning and there is nothing left for player to reach. The beginning has to be difficult, your ship is crashed.
Stay with this.
Also the game was fun to play when you had a hard day, not to difficult, sometimes only let it run and look what the bots an colonists do. There Im with Hiro Sol.
The last two days I played the last big Update and I started two new games and stopped every time after two hours.
I have to say thats not any longer what I saw in this game.

Man look back at your initial Idea with this game. This game was something special because you made it like you did, it will not be better when you make it like another android app or like other (main stream) games.
Keep the main target in mind, reaching a planet to deliver the colonists and build a colony. For this game the way is the reward.
I think its great what you reached, Im programming for nearly 30years.
Also this is my first comment on steam, normaly I dont comment, but as I said I liked this game a lot.
Keep the path you had to bring some spice in the game play:
- Asteroid - good
- Pirates - good
- Maybe plagues from a Planet which have to be cured
- Maybe some people you rescue from a ship or a planet
- Maybe repair a stranded ship to help others
- Or find some ancient technologies
Man look at Star Trek, there are so many Ideas.
Some other Ideas I had:
- get a new technology branch from other cultures (maybe a stardrive from bio technology or bio plating which generates power and uses bio waste)...

At this point I stop playing this game and look for the next Update.

Thank you for your feedback, I appreciate it. I hope the upcoming updates will turn things around for you. Also, a few remarks:

> I start with half of the tech tree

Basic tech is now pre-unlocked by default due to a popular demand, but It is configurable in the new game modifiers, you can start your run in the classic way with most tech locked up.

> the traders, gone, the planets, gone, the system map with planets, gone

Trader ships will be reintroduced in the next major update, along with many other NCP ships. In v0.12 you can still trade with Space Stations that you can find all around.

Planets are not gone, you can still find them if you travel through the hyperspace. I suggest to take the "Space Travel" tutorial if you didn't get to play long enough to get to hyperspace.

Finding a planet and settling your colony is still the main goal of the game.
