The rate of exploding things is approaching the ridiculous.
Okay, I know that turning off story events causes a problem with the story events that do still occur but does everything have to blow up when it's moved\built\turned on?

As soon as I could after starting a new playthrough I moved my stasis array to a new room I'd built that would allow waking colonists to walk straight into the room where the surviving colonists were gathered. This way I didn't have to worry about somebody going crazy and destroying the transporter in the stasis array room.

And everything worked very well UNTIL a light panel decided to fail (code for blowing up) and destroyed the entire stasis array! How much voltage goes through these lights for crying out loud?

Before the crowd turns on me and tells me to "harden up bro, that's the game!" I'll add that I only mention this as a suggestion to maybe tone down the rate and severity of things like minor equipment failures.

In v0.12 there is a new "Fuse" upgrade that is cheap to build and you can install consumable fuses into almost any device to prevent them from exploding. I hope this helps.

That sounds like a good plan.

I remember thinking this, then zooming out on my massive ship and thinking.... Yeah, and the robots are going to just fix everything and no one even died. The fuse upgrade will be appreciated.

I don't know how other people build their propulsion on their end game ships, but mine are built in squares to minimize their footprint, lol, huge squares with tons of engines. sometimes huge parts explode when hit by micrometeorites.... Still, I marveled at just how wealthy my ship had become, and despite all the damage, how safe the ship was for its inhabitants.
