Can you survive from a face hugger attack? How to vent air/ drop temperature fast?
I just got a stasis pod on my ship with those crawlers. I thought i was doomed.
And quickly send in a security team to fight them. i lost 2 drones and had to seal of the area by locking all doors.

A crew member got air lifted in unfortunately but, funny. He got face-hugged.
He was desperately trying to get the thing off his face.
Since i had no security left i wasn't risking it. So i opened up the air-locks and made sure he died.

So my question, can you survive this? Is it possible to remove the face-hugger from your face?

And, how can you get oxygen out fast and drop the temperature?
I know about the floor vents to space. They work really fast.
That would be the answer already but, i haven't got those everywhere on the ship.

I had a corridor in the length of my ship from front to back. Divided up into sections that i could seal off.
with a few airlocks to space. So by opening and closing a few doors i was expecting stuff to fly out through the airlock. ( like in the movies )
I thought i'd kill those spiders by suffocating them or freezing them. But, the venting of air or dropping of temperature went really slow.

As of the current implementation, removing face huggers on demand is not possible, but they die and detach on their own if you wait long enough (this wasn't intended, but I kept this bug as an accidental feature). There will be a development iteration dedicated to implementing a complex health system and body parts, I will be addressing the face hugger removal properly then.

Okay clear. Thank you for answering.

It is cool to suck out the monster from the room, but this is impossible. Because this game often leaks air, it must have little effect, unless the function of "destroying the room"

It is possible with floor vents, if you open them when someone is standing on it.

So funnily *just* filed a bug report ( 9HW4H ) about it, but apparently you *can* remove them on demand if you have a Beta Wave emitter built and synced. Lets you Dequip the crawler from the colonist's face, but does result in a "neutral" crawler just wandering around freely after.

Further experimentation has revealed that eventually, it'll attach itself to a colonist again, and I can remove it again. This results in a *dead* crawler, in addition to the still living one, with the dead one getting hauled off as the live one is again ignored.

Interesting experiments you carried out on those poor colonists. I thought opening up the airlock was the most humane and efficient way. :D

I had a large crawler attack facehug lots of colonists and somehow one of the crawlers ended up neutral and was walking around chilling with the rest of the colony, it was fairly early in a playthrough, I like how I can have eggs bursting out of colonists several ages after this attack :P
