Main Quest Bug
While playing through the Main Quest and following the Walk-through, I got to the part where I am supposed to 'Talk to Diminara'. Now I found her when I was doing the "Fearing the Worst' branch earlier. She was in the cave at the end of the Aqueduct. So, I go there and talk to her. She has 3 choices in chat but all three of them just exit out of the conversation. She says she wants to be left alone.

Note: looking at the Walk-through I see that there is the mention of a guy named Romulus. I'd never talked to him before. I did speak with him and now he wants me to find his missing slave. If that's Diminara, I haven't done that yet, but I shouldn't have to. I found her with a quest saying I was supposed to talk with her. That's a bug.

No. After talking to Romius go back to Dimiara. She’ll ask you to get her food and clothes. Then you can decide if you’ll turn her in or not.

OK, my point was that I found her without ever talking to Romulus. I tried to talk to her and she was basically broken. One quest says Talk to Her but then she cannot be really interacted with. Even the Walk-through doesn't mention that you need to speak with Romulus before you try to find her. It does tell you when you need to do the quest for the Charioteers ... why not Romulus? If I didn't have the walk-through, I would have been totally unable to move on because I honestly don't run around talking to everyone.

It’s funny you end with that statement because I’ve considered adding to the walkthrough that when in doubt you should always go talk to people.

You’re wrong about the walkthrough though. I designed it with expedience in mind. Romius is mentioned the first time you walk by him to get to the Godseeker. I don’t mention Dimiara until you end up close to her location.

Remember that Romius and Romilius are different npcs. If you’re spelling the name wrong it may explain why your troubleshooting isn’t finding the detail you need from the walkthrough.

I understand the feeling that a seemingly dead conversation might seem broken, but it isn’t a bug. They want that questline to progress a certain way, and they didn’t provide an extensive explanation when things are discovered out of their expected order. Some people hate walkthroughs because they want to find things on their own. That's fair. We're all trying to get the most of what we each want from the game.

I'm spelling it wrong because my eyesight is terrible and that is what I thought it was. (Given that Romulus is a famous Roman name and Romius isn't.) I may not have been directed to Dominara until later on, but I found her because I was having trouble finding my slave in the earlier quest. I went into that cave and saw a girl standing there naked. I didn't even notice it wasn't the right girl. as it turns out, the salve I sent to Atticus my old war buddy was also Egyptian, so I thought it was her. I didn't realize it wasn't until after I talked to her and got he close up image. Then she blew me off, so I used thee ALT Key to look at her name again. Later on, I recalled her name and went back to the cave. Again, she blew me off but this time I know that the quest was telling me to talk to her. That is why I call it a bug. If a quest tells the player to do something and they do it but it fails to trigger the expected response, it looks like a bug. If 'I' were coding the Diminara interaction and the player didnt' have the Runaway Quest from Romius, I would still link into her explanation of running away and asking for help. None of that should require talking to Romius. in fact, you could just have talking to her be a second way to have that quest dumped on the player. That way, if they choose to, they could still be a prick and turn her in for whatever reward Romius was offering.

That’s fair. There are writing and style choices I wouldn’t have made (like having two names so similar), but it’s still just a storytelling choice.
