This game seems like it could be very entertaining

I'm sure the dev is familiar with honey select (hereinafter referred to as H S) and how you can impose your will on a girl you can create using the customization sliders. If this game gives a decent amount of customization (how she looks visually, height, body shape, face, etc) in slave girl creation, along with her personality (angry, timid, etc), it seems like it'll become MORE interesting than H S.

I say that because in H S, other than unlocking sex positions, altering mental state (positively or negatively), getting outfits, that's it. Not that H S isn't a fun game, but Slaves of Rome has an over arching goal of redeeming your lost status while managing X number of girls (and importantly, having sex with them) on your way to slavemaster financial success, a bit like Custom Maid I think regarding the money acquisition theme.

I also appreciate that you'll have choices on how you manage the girl and can go mean or nice as you see fit. That's as it should be fantasy wise.

I'm looking forward to playing as the male protagonist and managing my ever growing stable of attractive female slaves. My body and wallet are ready.

I tried it yesterday through Patreon; and I'd strongly suggest you wait a year or two, if it doesn't crash and burn in a trashcan in the meantime.

One of the quests goes like this(SPOILER): Slave-owner(not the player, he had a name but it was immemorable) "F U C K S H I T!!!! (literally), My slave ran away; go find her." The cursing just kept on going through, I think, 5-6 extra windows of dialogue with no substance whatsoever, just cursing. Then depending on what you press, the quest loops in the menu where you talk to him. Then you have to whip ANOTHER one of the guy's slaves to get information out of her, as to where the first slave ran off to. The punishing game in itself is nothing more than a ripoff of the old Meet n' ♥♥♥♥ games online where you have to keep a bar in between two lines, or you fail... that's it. You get information about where the first slave ran off to, but at that point I lost interest.

The running animation the protagonist uses, makes him look like he is about to fall head first into the ground. He lunges forward with his chest xD I guess its funny somehow. The jump animation is just ridiculous.

I bought a sub on Patreon for 50$ because I wanted to see what you could customize on your slave you get with that sub... The customization, of which not all work, are the old DAZ3D Genesis 2 dials (I think), they've both released Genesis 3, 8 and recently 8.1 - so its old stuff; and when you make big tits they look UDDERLY ridiculous. The ass however, looks great no matter what you do. As mentioned before, some dials do not even work. By the way the faces are hideous; think along the lines of OG Skyrim with a FEW or no mods installed.

On Steam the creator hints at this being a "AA"-graphics game. On Patreon he postulates that its a "AAA"-game. This game....... xD has this level of graphics - https://store.steampowered.com/app/773951/Freeman_Guerrilla_Warfare/

THIS is a "AAA"-game graphicswise - https://www.patreon.com/adeptussteve (Wildlife) - it is, however, as hollow as Slaves of Rome right now.

As to the sex. You have to unlock positions(Missionary, Doggystyle etc.) in a grid much like they use in Path of Exile and many other RPG games. You get points for that grid by punishing and "loving" your slaves; and through said punishing and "loving", your slaves "level up" and are worth more money - that's the jist of it. Tools for punishing them you can buy at a vendor (there are 5 tools now asfai could see). The loving works almost like the punishing; plow them fast enough (hit space at the right time), before their stamina bar runs out. The stamina bar can be boosted by purchasing lube at the traders -.-

As for the dialogue... wow; not immersive at all - a complete dumpsterfire. Think teens in a group standing at the mall. I am childish myself but this is just too primitive for me to even find funny.

Now to the positive xD The Voiceacting for the female slaves is okay(they sound convincing!). The idea of buying slaves especially in Roman times is great - you just can't see it yet.

This is like a slave mod for Skyrim, nothing more. This being pushed back to march is ridiculous, they should push it back to 2023, then find out that its outdated and rewrite the code ;-D

I think it's worth asking the dev if it's on the road map to use gen 8 and allow for custom morphs.

I get the gameplay you experienced wasn't top notch, but maybe it'll be better come launch time.

This - https://www.patreon.com/meshedvr/posts - 8$ per month (or you can just pay once, but when an update comes along you need to sub again to get the password for the update). There is a modicum of work involved, but there are TONS of BDSM scenes you can download ready to go and tweak. Works in and out of VR (desktop is easier when it comes to posing). It is using Daz2 models right now, but FAR more advanced than SoR. It is not a game per se, but it way better for its intents and purposes(also with soft physics and in general physics based touch and movement). But if you haven't tried it yet, just get Skyrim Special Edition - download Vortex (mod manager from https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition) and install only a FEW beautification mods for the NPCs and you are better off looks-wise. Slave mods for Skyrim you can find on loverslab... just google it, I probably can't link it here directly without it getting taken down. The slave mods are also a bit more advanced than Slaves of Rome will ever be - seeing as to they are free (the mods), you can capture women in the world of Skyrim; tie them up when you get home to your base when you buy one and do other stuff to them(more advanced RPG and "lovers" mods are also available - its a deeeep well trust me) :-P just look at these NPCs for reference https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/16625. As to the modding itself, it isn't that hard. After trying it a few times you quickly get the hang of it and with most mods you hold hands with menus guiding you along :-D

I've taken a look at loverslab and half the time the pages lock up because of all the crap happening on them ( I have a very high end rig with godly bandwidth, it's not me ).

What you've suggested Dæmon, isn't entirely wrong but it's wrong in the following ways.
1) SoR is actually a game, not a mod for a game that adds animations ala skyrim.
2) Nor is it VaM which has animations and poses but it's not game with goals.

I'm not sure why you're so anti-this guy's game. It's not like they can't co-exist.

I'm interested in the SoR game because it has a formal play mechanic with sex themes that I can buy from steam without fear of viruses.

I'll review SoR when it comes out, I'm hoping it'll be good.

Interesting discussion :). Bear in mind there is a "limit" to how polished this game can be, and we ARE doing our best but we are 4 people, and we get about 8k from patreon a month so our resources are limited and there is a limit to how great graphics can look. As for the Gen 2/8 question we actually have both, we started with 2 and moved to 8 at a later stage so newer characters are gen 8.

*blinks* reads again. Did you just say you're now using GEN 8 on the new characters? HOLY CRAP ! that's AWESOME.

Two questions:

1) Will the game allow us to import Gen 8 characters we buy from Daz and use it in your game?

2) If yes to the above, will we be able to use our own morphs?

I am not opposed to anyone's game, but I get mad seeing all the shizzle that gets through Steams filter now. I have so many games which are not only subpar but pretty much unplayable and / or abandoned. Just wait till sxxx gets released(fully) until opening a Steam page, instead of all this pre-release/early alpha/beta dumps. You would hope that the smaller companies learned from Bethesda, CDPR, EA and the rest - but no they just jump on the bandwagon and keep the cashgrab rhythm going as game quality plummets. I just noticed today that another game I tried which is also a complete dumpsterfire is now on sale... ALSO pre-alpha ;-) but was released in august of 2020 >>RELEASED<<; now they try for another round of milking their customerbase. Third game I focus on at the moment, I just got banned from their discussion forum for voicing my opinion. The first thing you encounter when you open the game is a casino-like UI which prompts you to buy stuff even before you tried it!!! The trend is just make part of a game; release whatever you have(maybe even pile on MTXs before the game can be played) and hope that a bunch of people slips into the net XD

Here's the thing, the game DOES exist and you can get RIGHT NOW but ONLY if you become a patron on the P site.

HOWEVER, since I'm a fan of keeping my computer virus free, I'll wait for them to release it on steam before I load it onto my computer. I don't need the game so badly that I'd skip steams stellar safety scrutinizing.

It does feel a bit like the dev used steam for free advertising and that's a shame if true, but they can prove me wrong by actually offering it here as they originally posted that they would.

It's great even though it's not polished, i recommend getting the patreon version as this will always be behind it probably many versions, i hope they add a Ludus with gladiators down the line since they are also slaves.
