is it worth playing in 2023
i just want to play an anime mmo but everything is terrible and abandoned. i played burning soulworker years ago but i swear it gets shut down, reopened, shutdown, reopened and repeat. the steam version is even more terrible (im not up to date with the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥).

at this point i give up on anime mmos. it seems like a golden ticket but everything is so terrible it's crazy.... im sad. tbh ik how bad it is... this post is to persuade me to play it anyway

It's not bad, but it has it's quirks, definitly seems to be heading the right direction with recent changes and there's a plan to move it to 64 bit client and optimize the game, which hopefully's gonna fix some fundamental problems with some of the game.
I personally find it to be a lot of fun, try it and see if you like it. Main fun factors come from combat when you get 44% cooldown, and dressing up your characters.

SW is 7 years old since beta from JP. Then random happened and not quite good for other players who played thousands of hours. So this year, probably there's a lot of good MMOs soon to be appear. Of coourse. some loyal players still here suffering from Devs perspective.
You can try atleast 100 Hrs if you want to suffer a lot this game. It depends on you on how to deal this $h!t.

I mean, if you really wanna play anime mmo, why not just try then? Not like there's much of a choice since there're barely any games like this. And it's free, so won't hurt, Just try to not burn out, consider it a side game.

I used to be very critique with them for a long time but I can confirm the new direction is trying to give a new breath.

You have an anime game here that is untouched by any form of censorship in which we can only be grateful (unlike AGS).

I am not sure the x64 client will fix all of the fundamental issues as mentioned above, loading times for example, even between mazes, it's way too long... especially for the few assets there is to load, let's wait and see.

Not trying to be a douche or nothing--just genuinely curious. Do you have like a link or something for that 64 bit client mention? I just ask because I do like this game but ultimately the horrible performance it has steered me away from wanting to continue playing. If true and there's a significant performance improvement I would totally be willing to come back.

It was mentioned during their offline meeting I think, might be on their youtube channel, not 100% sure with that, but I think the client was scheduled for April

Just don't be naive and expect everything to be fixed right away with engine update. It's gonna take some time.

Cool, cool. Cautious optimism and all that.

I already played it on GF server and I liked it then, and now that I play on Lions Server, I also like it and can't understand why the Game always gets bashed like it was horrible. I play it casually and thats fine for me. If you look for a nice game with nice game play, its a real cool game. You get many stuff for free...

Just try and see yourself. But dont run away after a few dungeons. On Youtube they said, everything is too easy, but I see the other side. They played until like LVL 25... xD I am 70+ now and its gotten a bit harder, but not unplayable.
