I read a recent review that warned about a malware being downloaded when installing the game, does anyone know if that's actually a thing?

It took 3 hours for the guy to remove something from his computer. That should tell you about how much he knows about computers lol.

I am going to guess he's talking about the anti cheat. It's not malware and to fully delete all traces of it you delete two files in some directory I forgot which takes a few seconds.

Sorry my memory was a bit off. Anyway, once you are done deleting the game you want to delete "xhunter1.sys" in C:\Windows\xhunter1.sys

Then delete the registry: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE > SYSTEM > ControlSet001 > Services > xhunter

In case someone asks how, search for the program "Registry Editor" in Windows.

People who don't know something about Computers, are actually kind of funny.
The "Malware" your Computer caught is the Private AntiCheat-Ware who is Protecting the Game for People trying to Inject or Manipulate the Game with their Programs or Tools.

The "Malware" is not a Malware. Its an AntiCheat, your AntiVirus Programs dont see it as it, because the AntiCheat is Protecting the Files of the Game, means when a Program is trying to Manipulate or Inject something, the AntiCheat blocks it up.

If you Remove the AntiCheat. The Game won't work.
The AntiCheat Startup is one of the First Step to Start the Game, or even let you connect to the Servers of Soulwoker.

ty to take the time to answer me, but but all my other game dont trigger avira... im gonna search on this to be sure it dont have access to my other file because my game is in a weird path and if it can violate my privacy... can we see the source code of that thing..

Some AVs are slow to whitelist certain anti-cheats or just get triggered off by some unlike others.

Ultimately all effective anti-cheats scan through your RAMs memory or in other words whatever is stored "running". They are all *potentially* privacy violating but any anti-cheat company that wants to stay in business wont go there. Pearl Abyss states that xigncode3 is safe, you can decide whether or not to trust them but also Wellbia (the devs of the anticheat) are still in business all these years.

If you really want to play but are paranoid just don't open any of your secret pornography while you have the game running. Should be easy . Only Microsoft and their partners will know at minimum.

That's not mmorpg

I don't recomment any mmorpgs. This genre is meant to play like 8 hours a day.
