Followers and gathering resources

How exactly does it work? I told Daisy to pick up stuff and all she's taking are stones. How can I make her gather other resources, like wood, vine, etc.?

she needs an axe to chop trees, or a pickaxe to mine stone and ores and a melee weapon to harvest bushes. She gather same like you. But she can´t use a wrench to disambling f.e. cars

She also only does 50% damage to anything, so she's really slow at chopping or mining.

They also cant be set a specific task, you need to take tools off them if you want to limit them to a specific type of gathering and even then they will still kill bushes/gather bullets etc at times rather than cut trees/mine.

No you can give her all the tools and give her instructions. In the follower menu, different tasks unlock at higher levels. You can set her to only loot synthetic objects, or only gather natural items, or both. She won't open any containers, but she will break down any objects, chop trees/bushes and mine rocks. You can also set to prefer ranged attack, no attack, and stop following you.

I just wish we can send her out to gather materials on her own!

I personally think that long-distance attacks by followers are very worrying. If it is a bow and arrow series, he will continuously fire and miss at very far distances, consuming all the arrows.

So I put all his upgrade points on health and let him wear a shield. He doesn't have to do anything when he's a tank.

Okay, but she wont chop any trees or even gather leaves. I gave her all the tools she needs but all she does is pick up rocks and stuff that are in containers. I dont know what to do with her

No, if you give them all the tools they will do all the gathering.

If you take the axe off them for example they cant chop trees and will focus (more at least) on mining.

The third order (top right) is the one that governs harvesting ( mining, chopping trees etc).

Have you confirmed that the level of your followers must be at least level 10?

Ah, so that's how this works. I assumed she can pick up everything from the start.
So should I give her tools now, or when she will reach lvl 10?

Lvl 10 for her to be able to use them (with the unlocked order turned on).

She can have them before but they wont do anything.
