Night waves get harder and harder zombies, but I'm not too sure about the amount. If it changes or not, maybe the spawning is just a timed event. There is a setting for wave size, but I believe it only limits the amount, how many zombies are spawned in at the same time. (for example, if the value is 200, then there are initially 200 spawned in. And if one of those gets killed, only then another zombie is spawned in. I believe, this is meant as a method to prevent too many zombies and thus lag. Keep in mind, that I might as well be completely wrong on this topic.)
I don't know about the loot.
wave zombies come in more frequently during the wave but i don't think they grow in strength or HP or life or health or defense or whatever. i think they just grow in numbers.
the farther you get, you will eventually get less and less light zombies and more and more heavy ones in the wave. by day 100 you're dealing with a thousand heavies each wave. the strongest ones and they're so bulky that they keep blocking the entryway
as for the loot, the loot stays the same too although there might be some hidden clause where you have to reach day 10 before you start seeing a lot of graduate zombies, for example. but i'm pretty sure loot drops stay the same.
we played past day 100 a few times and farming david each time, he always drops the same stuff no matter what day it was.
the only way to affect how much loot you get is with the difficulty setting in your game, you can select up to 3x items.
the wave however, will bring more loot as you progress. more zombies = more loot bags. but you already know what's inside of those. :)
gunpowder can be easy if you get used to always doing melee fighting to save ammo. i usually melee everything except bosses (and heavies early on) and save that gunpowder for the giants (MRL).
ballista won't do much, you['re better off with a minigun, but then you consume too much ammo.
and as for the waves, the day waves get harder too, more and more zombies come. after day 100 it gets ridiculous. you can't farm at a farm site without having a small maze there to take care of them.
just a small one, just enough to take care of a few critters. a few traps, a looping element and it's enough
you don't have to though, you can just keep fighting them when they come :D
