The craft quests for 13 all involve the aluminum mine and getting aluminum from there.
If it doesn't trigger the quest you may be sadly out of luck unless you have a previous save from before then.
Also there is no support from the devs anymore , but you might try verifying your game files and see if it helps ( just throwing that out there for you to try ).
Also you do realize that when you put hordes on hold they will be at whatever day you come back at not when you stopped them at day 8.
Say you come back day 20 you will have the typical day 20 hordes and giants too not day 9 .
steve is right, that topic shows "quest triggers" which means that topic tells you how to trigger each quest to popup.
if you were already in the aluminum mine and these quests didn't trigger then it means one of two things:
either your game is bugged and steve is right and you should probably start a new game, or that the information on my quest triggers is wrong. but we've tested most of those to be true.
playing with waves off shouldn't have a negative impact on questing (except for those few quests that rely on it).
i'd try one more time to go tot he mine and see if it triggers, if not i don't know what to say. maybe steve is right and you need to roll back to a previous save or start a new game. this game isn't horribly buggy but glitches in the system do happen in night of the dead. it's really advisable to save often and use multiple save files.
I have progressed in this game a little bit since writing this post and after reading your comments i realized, that i seem to need to unlock the page. I got more pages missing then just this one, so its probably not an bug.
Do you know how i unlock those pages? I was already at the mine and crafted some stuff, but the page is still not there.
Also, how do i unlock the rest of the quests on each page? I got some pages with 4 quests completed and after doing one quest, the next one got revealed. But not on every page.
For example:
Page 3 in the crafting Journal has 3/4 unlocked and completed, but the 4th one doesn't show up, like it did on page 4 a few minutes ago from testing on my side.
Edit: I have finally found something in the wiki that says, that i need to do certain tasks to unlock some of the pages or visit certain locations.
For page 13 it says "move to mine" and "move to blacksmith shop".
I was at the mine, but i don't know what an blacksmith shop is. Do i need to move there to unlock the page? And is it an location like the supermarkets or is it one of those displays again, where I can buy stuff?
PS. i have waves off, but only because normal difficulty was unwinnable for me at just night 5 XD.
i got hit with like 40 exploding zombies, that were not much of an problem before, when they were only like 20 or so, because i shot them from a far with the pistol.
However, my house was just made out of basic wood and reinforcing it for fire proof or explosion proof was costing WAY too much resources at that time...
The pistol method with running away, shooting them and then running back to my base with basic shredders and fences worked, till i run out of ammo and still got 20+ exploding zombies running to my base <.<
Specially with the giant zombie, i just turned on sandbox and god mode, and still chewed through 3 melee weapons XD
I almost quit the game, but then i saw the button for difficulty like half an hour later and THANKFULLY we can change it individually for each save game!
I loaded my savegame right before the night and turned waves off to get more time to build up my base. I also started to build an trap maze and changed the days from 240 mins to 420 mins to get even more time.
I'm almost done with the maze at day 9 and was only able to get the resources with all the farms and mining machines, that this game thankfully has!
I will turn the waves on again, but first i want an fair chance to defeat the waves that are thrown at me.
Is there any way to turn off giants and the exploding zombies (just for a few days to enjoy the normal waves)? Normal base zombies i can defeat, but exploding zombies and giants are a pain to fight in the first 10 days.
I recently crafted a shotgun and it defeats the giants pretty fast, since i think i lowered their health in the difficulty options, but i want to turn it back to normal and multiple of them would probably destroy my base, before i can get them down on my own <.<
I saw options in the difficulty settings to change the amount of "heavy" and "giant" zombies, but i don't know what they mean with "heavy" zombies and i don't know if the slider for giants really works.
Any advice here?
there is a quest where you have to make a material in a mine. this is not the same table. not every mine has this questing table. follow that quest (when you get to it, you're not that far yet i don't think), it will lead you to the correct table
quests are often hidden behind other quests, meaning that you have to do them in order for them to unlock in sequence. sometimes you can jump ahead, other times you can not.
i wish there was a simple answer for the questing but there isn't. the devs probably knew what they were doing but it all got lost on us.
so far in all this time that i've been here i've only seen 1 guy post that he completed ALL those quests. his name was Brewski_Guzzler. so it makes me feel positive that it can be done. but it's not going to be easy because it's like a puzzle to solve. how to unlock each quest?
there is no way to disable exploders, however, you can greatly reduce the number of giants by using the setting in the difficulty settings page. the one called Giant Zombie Amount.
the zombies are broken into 3 categories.
1.) light zombies. mostly harmless and usually with no special abilities.
2.) heavy zombies. big zombies with special abilities.
3.) giant zombies. well, you can't miss them. :)
the sliders work well but even though you set NO GIANTS they might still send you a giant now and again once you make it past day 100 or so.
I guess it is either one of the multiple common pre-requirements, or has something to do with reforging equipment. (Hinted by the quest text)
Nb! There is another similiar quest in Survival Quest series (Page 12 Q1 if I remember correctly)
1) Have completed all the Tutorial Quests (up to building a Research Table)
2) Possess an item, that has been reforged to at least +4 tier while nearing any of the three (or more?) trigger areas in the Eastern Grassland.
a) near the Mine and the village North of it.
b) near the entrance to the Olivare Church
c) North of the Desert bridge.
Yea, I've built a Material Production Workbench in the mines too, though I've found maximizing profit at banks to be the most important part of hardening, because of the Gold Bars.
(With this setup, I have only Pages 1-2 of the Crafting Quest completed, still able to trigger)
Will there be a way to automatize fishing like mining, or does that part always stay the same, no matter how far i will come in NOTD?
Pls no spoilers if something comes to automatize it. I have build the fishing spot and know you can upgrade it later, when you get to the desert. Thats my concern there... that its like 6 different types of fish to gather with the fishing pole <.<
I know from research and spoilers, that there will be drones to automatize stuff later and that i will probably find them around the desert area. But i'm not looking too far into this part, to experience it on my own with just a little bit of spoilers to be able to continue :)
So far, this game has been alot of fun and i would say it would be better then most tripple games nowadays, if they would do a few tweaks to it.
(Bug fixes, quality of life updates etc.)
This isn't really an automation game, unfortunately.
And I have tested it yet again, it is tier +4, that you need for the quest. (Not tier +3)
Oh my bad xD
I upgraded my red "Nutcracker" axe to tier +4, alongside my armor that is tier +3 now. Maybe it was the axe then 🤔
