Machines are no longer a "must"
Well , Oil Pumping Machine and Mining Machines are quite crap now , from 10 Mining Machines i get between 8-10 Copper , from same amount of Oil Machines got 17-20 Oils...you can get easily 5 times more if you brake barrels or cars :). And i can collect 2 times / day

I have to admit the copper shortage turns part of the game into an 'unfun' grind. The only partial work-around I've found is to grab electronic circuits and disassemble them. Edit: You can also find a few coins to disassemble from urban areas, but I'm finding towns pretty dangerous because I'm usually so lagged and jerky it's very hard to aim. I also just built my first two mining machines since the huge patch. I'll see what they produce.

I also have 10 ore crushers, I get at least 21 copper out of it, sometimes up to 30.
I think the point is if you always have to loot to get ores, you don't have time for other things. Getting by with so few ores is a challenge. But it works

Your not play ing Legendary LOL Be a Legend !

there is practically a computer terminal in every house now, copper, same with the normal crate, copper bars. use to be metal 55 gal drums, but not so any more for copper. All the weapons break down into metal now too, so tear now weapons .
They were never a must. They were introduced before ITEM RESPAWN was introduced as to bandaid the resource scarcity after you've looted the whole map. The items you need for Kits were also the ones which had no use and you get a lot from the hoarde.

So since the implementation of Item Respawn, they became relegated to something as a buffer to your resources and a means of item sink.

Lastly, with the CUSTOM Settings, one can play the game SIM CITY style wherein they don't even have to go out gathering after setting up their resource producing buildings aside from the need of getting books.

However, I do agree, with the implementation of all the new lootables, Copper's not really an "issue" now.
