➜ How to trigger each quest ▢▣
This is a question that's being asked a lot right now. How to trigger specific quests? Some are easy, others are difficult to figure out.

The way I see it, the easiest way to obtain such a "triggers list" would be to get the developer to provide us with one, but the dev never gave us one before leaving.

So I propose making a repository of information right here in this forum topic. Just in case the developer comes back stating that a list can't be produced, then we're on our own to produce one anyways. Let's at least get a head start?

Anyone may post here what they know about how to trigger any quest. You can post it even if it's already been posted before (it will work to validate or challenge the previous post so it's OK). If what I have posted is wrong, you can challenge it.

Thanks in advance to anyone who participates in this documentation project. 😎

⚠️ Please note that it should be possible to bypass a lot of the early quests simply by gaining experience in the world and leveling up. On the Journal screen it says that you simply need to gain 5 levels. After reaching level 5, you should be contacted by Victoria who will be ready to move forward with the Main Story.

⚠️ Please note that some quests may not trigger unless you have done the quest before it first.

90%+ of the quests are triggered just by playing the game normally.

More useful than this thread IMO is a list of the triggers only for the quests which require you do something other than follow the main quest. Such as the one triggered by building furniture.

yea i hear you but some people are playing out of order and have the radio chatter disabled. they come back later and need some random quest so a full documentation is going to be required.

i'm doing a new game playthrough to document all the ones you get along the way because i already plowed through in my game using the sandbox and triggered a lot of them already without documenting how.

also, i did hear back from the dev but only to tell me they've been extremely busy and that he hopes to start replying to emails again soon. so in the mean time i plug on :/

i keep plugging away at this new game i started. i am up to the point where i'm about to meet veronica grimes at the airport. i defeated david already. been documenting all the quests as they pop up.

tried to trigger O 1-4, still cant get it to trigger, tried it on all difficulties, even with different characters, are you sure it´s a level 5 trigger? i even made sure i had O 1-3 finished before reaching level 5 and nothing happened

EDIT: found the trigger; let your satiety(hunger bar, drop to 50% or less

O 1-4 Recover reduced satiety
Consume Energy Bar x2
Consume Painkiller
Craft Herbal Medicine

see this is why it's confusing because i'm realizing a lot of these actually have more than one trigger.

example: a lot of them like in the desert will introduce you to hunting unique animals. now you think that encountering these animals is the only trigger but i'm realizing you also have to move a certain distance on the map in the desert region.

some quests have more than one trigger and it's making the documentation tricky. :/

thanks for sharing the clarification though i will edit it in immediately.

ya i really dont know what they thought about the questsystem, dont get me wrong i like it, but it´s really wonky and unreliable, im down for exploring and finding stuff on my own like secrets, but due to it being a big and if you want to call it like that a fundamental part of the game, it should be more "clear" like keep some trigger conditions, but grey out the quest and give a hint on how to trigger it
Shadowrun Apr 22, 2024 @ 2:42pm
i like the quest system because it's like a built-in tutorial making sure everyone knows how to play and succeed at the game.

i emailed the dev again asking if they can produce a comprehensive list on their end. still waiting to hear back...
Shadowrun May 1, 2024 @ 10:38am
dev finally answered my question about this

1. Quest Trigger
It is difficult right now because not only does the quest trigger need to be organized, but there is a possibility that the trigger may change in the future.

this means we are on our own for now, but hints that some time in the future a list MIGHT be able to be produced for us.

i am still working on this list little by little. the remaining quests in my game are getting more difficult to trigger, but as they pop up, I add them to my list.

cheers!

sounds promising.
im trying to find the triggers for: O 8-4,12-4,15-4,16-4,20-4 i got a theory to those: if we look at O-9, we need to increase resistance to element(Q1),kill 20 spitter chems(Q2),kill 3 chemical mutants(Q3) and kill 3 enhanced smashers(Q4)

so we got local resistance in this case chemical, kill X amount of local mid-tier(Q2), kill local high tier 3x(Q3) and kill X local giant(Q4), theres a pattern to all others i listed, its always, local resistance-mid tier-high tier-unique(zone boss/whatever you wanna call em)

now we only need to find out how we triggered O 9-4.
the only quest not having this pattern is O 3, which underlines my theory due to it taking place at the beginning/spawn area where we dont got any elements to deal with
Shadowrun May 1, 2024 @ 2:11pm
yea there's patterns for sure. and there's grouping. like some of these are to simply possess a specific unique item. once you acquire the item, it triggers the quest. some of these quests like this are in blocks, where several of them will be in a row.

i'm just gonna keep plugging away at this on my triggers game. i abandoned my other game to play this one and focus on this.

if anyone sees one that i listed and you think it's wrong, please feel free to submit what you feel is correct. you don't just have to fill in the blanks here you can suggest corrections too (because i'm sure i got some wrong). :)
hatesphere666 May 2, 2024 @ 11:13am
found another one:

B = 23-1 Armored Vehicle with reactive Armor (equip PowerDrill, Upgrade:Armored Car Improved->Sturdy

not 100% sure about the trigger; i was farming some carparts, fuel and random drops in the snowbiome, disassembled a car, but got a spring as loot, maybe the spring is the trigger or the amount of cars disassembled, trying to recreate the trigger for more data, cheers
Shadowrun May 2, 2024 @ 11:25am
thanks again friend. :)
Saraigh May 3, 2024 @ 4:55pm
C-6.2 This one triggered for me on multiple characters when I trimmed a goldfish, an angelfish and a zacco platypus.
Shadowrun May 3, 2024 @ 7:51pm
thanks Saraigh :D

EDIT:

hey when you say C do you mean COMBAT or CRAFTING? i guessed crafting :D
