update and see if it helped.
as for the rest of your rant, leave it up. the devs are listening apparently. :)
Oh, and why is it called "Transmogrification"?? The word means changing in form or shape or appearance. Yes, it changes appearance by changing a HAT, but it doesnt change your shape or form which is the real meaning.
It's a costume system. This new label just sounds really try hard. Just call it "Costumes", which is what it really is.
Everything is much slower, painfully slow. And we are at end-game already with all skills maxed and close to LVL 90. Attacking is like fighting underwater. It's horrible.
GUI looks washed out, yet the highlights (white and blue) are far too bright. It makes the game look like a cartoon. The highlights were a little subdued before, but a slight tweak was all that was required, not this.
Also not a fan of the red-dot critical spots appearing on zombies. Again, makes it look like a cartoon and it's completely unnecessary to this game. Doesn't add anything meaningful but detracts from the immersion massively.
I'm not sure we like the shared crate system. Yes it makes it easier, but it's very immersion breaking, and also makes having a large inventory space mean far less now. You can just dump everything into a few crates and build/repair your whole base while carrying nothing. It doesnt make any sense, and feels like a sneaky hack/cheat.
I would also have preferred if Coils were able to be attached to traps to gain elemental abilities. Coils already have that function on weapons, so it makes sense to add them to traps, and also gives far more choices in regards to how to use Coils, especially later in the game when you have so many leftover coils. Trap mods should have stayed physical (+damage, +defense, +critical), then coils add the elements. Have 1 mod slot and 1 coil slot on each trap. Even better would be Mods can only be installed on upgraded/electric traps, and Coils can only be attached after the trap is upgraded again. Would have been a far better way to add elemental effects to traps.
Mods = physical, Coils = elemental. Simple, elegant and keeps the thematic tone while massively increasing choice and endgame use of coils.
Sorry for the rant, but this game had so much potential and is one of our favorite games, and it looks like things are going in the wrong direction unfortunately.
Mining is broken now. My +5 Depletion now takes around 10 hits to break ore. A basic pickaxe took 23 hits! That's insane. I'm almost LVL90 with all skills unlocked, yet it takes that much? Please fix.
I also don't like how TAB now takes me to a basic menu instead of my inventory. Going into inventory is so important, and now I have to hit I instead of TAB. I is not near the left hand which is used for movement, so it makes no sense to now require hitting I. This new menu is completely useless for such a main key as TAB. Who is ever going to go into this menu to build or journal or any other major action linked to keys?
I had to change my character mapping to go back to normal and get rid of this menu, but I feel bad for new players who start like this and think it's normal.
Did anyone do any QoL testing on these changes? Perhaps any beta testing with outside gamers?
these devs do care what people think about their product so it's important that everyone uses their voice on here, while the game is still in the works.
I do hope they are listening.
As a developer myself, I keep looking at this game and wishing I had the source code. lol
and as for the source code, be patient. i have a feeling that once the devs are done working on it they will unlock it and let the modders at it. i am only hoping here though. hoping and wishing. :)
They also don't seem to have paid attention to the problems that players complained about, in fact they all still exist. This update has broken the game. Now it's a lot more grinding and frustrating than before.
- don't like how slow my lightsabre swing is now
- Is this still in EA? (i'll check)
- a use for rubber,/plastic more use is welcome cause i've got too mcuh
- would like to see less bottlenecking on seeds>manure, fertilizer etc that's a pretty annoying ratio
great game
Hasn't resolved the zombie AI issue at all for me. Not gonna lie this update is a huge miss for me.
...They removed costumes right before selling a bunch of new, different overpriced ones? I was considering getting this today but I guess not. If devs read this stuff, that is a pretty slimy move in my opinion.
As OP said there is no reason you couldn't leave the old ones in, and also sell new ones. Reconsider your choices.
ok i finally broke and changed some keys around lol. i set TAB to be inventory again and i set that new menu to be the PAUSE / BREAK key lol. because that's been bugging me too. good for new players, not for veterans. hard to teach an old dog new tricks.
anyways i just thought i'd let you know those keys are all changeable so go ahead and move them around if you want. it at least solves one problem. XD
The character and several objects and structures in the environment already had incorrect size proportions since the previous version. It is something that was reported several times and to which they have not paid any attention.
It's ridiculous to find disproportionately sized objects or buildings with doors designed for a giant to use.
