How do you gather the yield that this pump extracts? And should I build it in the desert area rather than my start point?

the same way like theother resource machines, , start with machine repari kit and fuel , wait 12 hours and y<our game multiplikator and move there and press F or T to loot all, and repeat.

Desert area is not really necessary. Its just for specific situations, as example if u already build near the dessert. Otherwise the time just to move there and restart and gather, will be to much in my opinion. Than better build double Oil pumps in starting area near your other machines/Base.
