I play Night Of The Dead last month and it was rolling normal. Since I saw the beta test, my game started to crash, and after the last update, I tried to enter someone's server or create a new game and my game loads because it sweeps everything and simply dates and this message appears below:

“Out of video memory trying to allocate a rendering resource. Make sure your video card has the minimum required memory, try lowering the resolution and/or closing other applications that are running. Exiting..."

can someone help me?
I have 16gb of ram memory, a gtx 1060 6gb video card, and an i7

you can set unreal engine to limit textures held in vram. in engine ini set r.TextureStreaming=True & r.StreamingPoolSize=(whateveryouwantinMB). that might help. i know looking at the console that the hw specs when it tries to autodetect quality are a bit harsh and pretty loose in range.

I had this problem, the game takes 70gb but when you start and play it, it allocates even more, i have 11gb free space on my ssd and when i played it went to 140mb and crashed the game

It is insane how bad this optimization is

Did as Dilder suggested and that seemed to fix things! Thanks!

Added the following to engine.ini

[SystemSettings]
r.TextureStreaming=True
r.StreamingPoolSize=3096

I'm having the same issue and my brother and I have the exact same video card and he's able to get in just fine. I'm curious if this engine.ini will work but i'm not sure of the step by step process on how to do that, could you explain how i get to the folder for the unreal engine?

I don't have this problem so I cannot test to see whether this works or not.

Edit with a text editor C:\Users\<User Name>\AppData\Local\LF\Saved\Config\WindowsNoEditor\Engine.ini

[SystemSettings]
r.TextureStreaming=1
r.Streaming.PoolSize=3096

AppData is a hidden folder. This is how to show hidden items.

My brother had this problem too and his computer is better than mine. We tried the following,

1. Verify game integrity in steam. - Does not fix.
2. Uninstall & reinstall game in steam. - Does not fix.
3. Uninstall game in steam and clean all files and folders relating to the game and reinstall game. - Does not fix.
4. Check graphic drivers update, updated. - Does not fix.
5. Uninstall and reinstall graphic drivers. - FIXED.

What started the issue was that when i crashed, he saved the game during my crashing point. We thought that might have caused some corruption in the driver settings. Unsure cause we are not that DEEPLY familiar with coding. BUT STEP 5 WORKED so, YEAY! :2017stickytube:

The coolest thing is when that error pops up, and the game still loads fine, but when you click "OK," the game closes. It's as if the error is a lie.
