Base location?

Hi folks!

Can you tell or show on the map, which location you prefer for your base?
Do you build inside the town, on roofs, with walls in the back, or even at the environment?

Just starting a new game in the big factory in the south-west corner on the map.
Old base property was getting too small for all the electricity stuff, turrets and the material farms.

Many folks like to be near the city (so you are close to looting areas), at the redwood shelter, police station, school or gas station...because there's a lot of flat surfaces to build on plus the pre-built structures *usually* can't be hurt by zombies.

I prefer being on the border of the city so you can still easily access trees/rocks.

Blue Diamond is my favorite Base location. Red is the Bunkers I've traveled to so far this game. Purple is my mining marker. close but far enough away to not be heard.

i like to build at 16x14, right in the middle of those indestructible fences on the flat piece of land. the mansion with the pool is also close in case ♥♥♥♥ hits the fan and i need a safer space.

those red markers look like the zombie spawn points. those vault entrances into the side of the mountain.

No, purple diamond is where I put the machines. Red is for the spawn points.

Really , doesn't matter where you build it , if you play on Normal difficulty you can build wherever you want , but starting from hard and up , imo you need a flat surface , to get rid of catwalks for z's , so not so much to repair . 2 MRL , 2 Shocker , 1 fire , 2 upgraded spike launchers , and 40 traps , all upgraded and atleast half of them link to electricity . Im on wave 28 on Survival , and to be honest , with 2 shockers its quite overkill , even for Survival :)).

I go to the police station and build my base on the roof. It's about center map. There is a wall perimeter and one side is nearest to the police station. I go on the outside of that side, and there is a dumpster to climb up onto the wall. Then I just build two sets of stairs up from the wall. It's a safe place to build as they cannot get up from my experience.

Then I like to clear out the court yard and police station, then build my maze just out front.

First timer, here, but I set up my base in the rec center. Walled in with one entrance, so easy to defend. Close to the city for easy looting. Again, newbie to the game, so I'm waves off while I learn the game.

Large gas station is my fav in single player. Parkour up on the mini mart, build a foundation + bridge on the roof stretching toward the pumps, then jump over to the flat cover above the pumps. Half walls or railings around the edge, spike launchers in the corners. Mortars on the tiered building across the street. Wind turbines in the field and solar panels on the mini mart roof. Melee traps around the pumps but nothing has made it that far yet thanks to range traps.

In multiplayer, the large field around 16-20 is prime. Space enough for large base, a wind farm, veggie crop plots. Short swim across the lake to where deddy posted his/her base in the comments above, the place along the lake there is covered in iron nodes
