How many guns to kill a giant?
I still haven't encountered a giant, i've been playing in an easy difficulty, no wave game to learn the electricity. now i'm ready and building a plan but i need to know (from people who have done it)... how many guns does it take to take down a giant in normal difficulty? i was planning on building 1 multi-rocket launcher, 2 mortars and 2 miniguns. would this stop it? i don't even want to touch the railgun.

Yesterday comes in my Save the 10th Wave where comes the first Gigant. I play on easy too and i use a Flamethrower and i have one Minigun. That was enough for the Gigant.

On normal Mode i think its enough too but he will have much more HP.

this is good to know.

i played on normal after the patch, until day 8 then i decided it was too hard and went to an easy game, no wave, to learn the update. i'm ready to go back to normal lol.

Normal with a rifle will need about 300 rounds when they first appear.

One minigun is enough for a giant on the normal difficulty level. About 200-250 rounds are used.

nice, not as bad as i thought. i had read somewhere that a few well-placed mortar rounds would do the trick as well

On normal it takes 3 rockets from the launcher.

If you play on Hard difficulty, you get TWO giants on day 10... I was not ready for this... the gauntlet I made worked amazing until those bad boys came and obviously couldn't squeeze in the entrance and bullied my base like crazy until there was nothing left.

It was a surprise for sure, however this brings a serious question on game balance, because with them present, I'm no longer sure if there's even any point in using ceiling traps now?

i designed a base on graph paper that uses the traditional traps in a maze to deal with all the zombies except the giant. the base is a large plus shape + 17 x 17 foundations large. in the center is a bait trap that the zombies can get to if they run the maze.

the entrance has a ceiling so that only the smaller zombies will try to enter the maze. the big guy won't even try to navigate through there. outside the main entrance is no ceiling and a maze of walls for the big guy to walk around trying to get at the base. there are walls there for him to beat on because i heard he likes to destroy things.

there will be guns on the rooftop set to only target our giant friend. while he is beating up walls at the entrance the turrets on the roof will be blasting him in the face. all the while the regular zombies will continue running the maze.

i have tested this base build on everything but the giant zombie so far. the only problem i have with it right now on v.1.1.0.2 is that the zombies will break down stone walls while running the maze, thereby making a shortcut through the maze. it's difficult to get everything upgraded to iron, and they even deal a lot of damage to the iron walls as well. this has been my struggle so far.

for the turrets i set up a simple power grid. for normal difficulty i am planning to start with 2 batteries, with 5 windmills connected to each. this will provide enough power for a Mortar cannon, 2 miniguns and a flamethrower. the system will be upgraded over time (if i survive) to include 5 batteries and 9 guns.

here is a very old screenshot of the base design. this is an old base i designed for previous versions. it has been updated for this version to include new traps and take into account the giants. i just haven't uploaded any new screenshots yet.

You definitely need a railgun.

An electric power regulator, 5 batteries upgraded.

That supply the power controller, the power controller must also be upgraded.

So that you can only hire big zombies.

Then you need a big entrance, that's how I built it.

Left and right, ballistae and flamethrower, all ballistae with loaded, 1000 pieces.

Then straightened catapult. In general, everything electrical + the damage implementare.

Im on wave 15 on Survival , for a giant it need like 6-8 MRL's , but iy your unlucky and in the way of rocket its a tree / building / electricity pole , you'll need like 15 for a giant. Without upgrading each trap and add modifiers , upgraded quite a bit each one , specially first one , you wont make it , even in normal difficulty. Also you need 2 Electicity Control Power upgraded , one for Flamethrower + Spike Launcher upgraded , set up for Giant and heavy Z's and one ECP for MRL set it just for Giants. Fist row of traps need to be connected direct to battery to work all the time when a z;s step in range . Rest of them can be powered from flamethrower ECP

We ran into one on the mountain... Not easy to kill .

We have 3 in our party took all of us with rifles and kiting it . They are tough.. by the way We think from experience the tall mountains spawn giants randomly..

So far no chip from mountain giants only the wave giants.
