On normal Mode i think its enough too but he will have much more HP.
i played on normal after the patch, until day 8 then i decided it was too hard and went to an easy game, no wave, to learn the update. i'm ready to go back to normal lol.
nice, not as bad as i thought. i had read somewhere that a few well-placed mortar rounds would do the trick as well
It was a surprise for sure, however this brings a serious question on game balance, because with them present, I'm no longer sure if there's even any point in using ceiling traps now?
the entrance has a ceiling so that only the smaller zombies will try to enter the maze. the big guy won't even try to navigate through there. outside the main entrance is no ceiling and a maze of walls for the big guy to walk around trying to get at the base. there are walls there for him to beat on because i heard he likes to destroy things.
there will be guns on the rooftop set to only target our giant friend. while he is beating up walls at the entrance the turrets on the roof will be blasting him in the face. all the while the regular zombies will continue running the maze.
i have tested this base build on everything but the giant zombie so far. the only problem i have with it right now on v.1.1.0.2 is that the zombies will break down stone walls while running the maze, thereby making a shortcut through the maze. it's difficult to get everything upgraded to iron, and they even deal a lot of damage to the iron walls as well. this has been my struggle so far.
for the turrets i set up a simple power grid. for normal difficulty i am planning to start with 2 batteries, with 5 windmills connected to each. this will provide enough power for a Mortar cannon, 2 miniguns and a flamethrower. the system will be upgraded over time (if i survive) to include 5 batteries and 9 guns.
here is a very old screenshot of the base design. this is an old base i designed for previous versions. it has been updated for this version to include new traps and take into account the giants. i just haven't uploaded any new screenshots yet.

An electric power regulator, 5 batteries upgraded.
That supply the power controller, the power controller must also be upgraded.
So that you can only hire big zombies.
Then you need a big entrance, that's how I built it.
Left and right, ballistae and flamethrower, all ballistae with loaded, 1000 pieces.
Then straightened catapult. In general, everything electrical + the damage implementare.

We have 3 in our party took all of us with rifles and kiting it . They are tough.. by the way We think from experience the tall mountains spawn giants randomly..
So far no chip from mountain giants only the wave giants.
