also, i always read the release notes so i can see what all they've been fixing. so from my experience, as one of the first beta testers, who has over 8,000 hours into the game and ran a server for more than a year, and has worked closely with the devs, i would say, just wait like 2 more weeks or so and you should be golden. subscribe to the events forum to start reading along on the release notes to get a feel for when you think the time is right.

1. You really need to reset the server daily. If you don't, trees and rock will look to be there, but when you try to cut or mine them they just "poof" with no resources gained. A restart fixes this
2. This is the annoying as hell one. Because they don't have it designed to save when you do a restart, you seriously have to have someone (or everyone) do nothing for a full 10 minutes before logging out to prevent losing progress because the darn server will roll back to the previous save it performed. This is a simple fix... to just make the server save when you initiate a restart but they haven't done it. It's such an easy solution to a problem that pisses everyone off that is playing on a server and I hope they add the "save before restart" soon.
point #2 MIGHT have been fixed in a recent update, you would have to test it and let us know cause i don't have a running server right now to test. this might only apply to single-player games but in alpha hotfix release #83 it said this:
i don't know if this was a one-time hard-coded shot or if it was made to always be like this, or if it's SP or MP too i only know that it mentioned this in the release notes and it sounds like it might have tried to address this problem.
if the problem of #2 isn't fixed i would maybe copy and paste this into the game suggestions forum so it gets the proper attention. i too would love to see these 2 issues addressed before opening my server again
Ive reinstalled, verified, tried multiple ways, the batch loader, etc etc. My servers show up in the list, but never make it passed "attempting to join"
Im running the server on a different computer than I am trying to log in from
Ive done port forwarding, I though the 1.0 release might fix it but this still happens
Please fix, i just built this PC to be a server, this game was top on my list to play
Im make server in ubuntu and am use a wine.
A friend tried to run his own server (instead of renting one) and he couldn't join because it saw the IP as the same and he claimed he couldn't use a VPN to circumvent the issue. Not sure if this helps, but it's what I have gathered from his attempt
On my rented dedicated server the "pause" from saving is about 1 second. It shouldn't be freezing that long unless you're using a older HDD or something along those lines
I tried connecting to my dedicated server using ProtonVPN and it didn't work (somehow i guess it stills detecting im on the same network as dedicated server which is running in another machine)
BUT then i tried connect my PC to my mobile phone creating a hotspot and then i could launch it.
Next step i was going to try is VPN split tunneling from the dedicated server itself, so night of the dead will go through the VPN network and the other dedicated servers that im running through normal network.
Tried adding a MS-loopback adapter, didn't work, neither editing hosts file.
Server is listing, so when i try to log, TCP View shows that the client wont pass the 0.0.0.0/UDP Listening.
Server console log not showing any errors so the client int capable of resolving the host address...
I wish devs fix this issue now the game is in 1.0
