The biggest mistake I see people making is not making research/equipment upgrades a priority. Once you have the research and upgrades materials aren't a big deal except for oil.
I have done some research at the desk and it seems to ease up a bit but it's still a little bit off for me. I do chop bushes and all that but it just never seems to be enough. I am upgrading my base to metal right now so hopefully I won't be in such an insane cycle of damage repair.
What? You get 300-500 small iron from each horde night. I spend 30-50 on repair and store the rest against a rainy day. Every part of the base that takes damage is metal now since the repair materials are "free".
Basic treb ammo is boulder and stone, have chests of boulders and can gather stone quickly lategame. But yeah, I dismantled the spike launcher because it's branch to damage ratio is really bad.
Small iron pieces?, I have two chests filled with them, it's the most easy to get out of the repairing materials, zombies drop it.
Copper on the other hand is a whole different story lol I have way way too much of somethings if not most, but just never enough copper, it's like I'm hunting for the holy grail lol
Thanks, I actually didn't realise the zombies drop small iron pieces... i guess the meta now should be upgrading everything to steel/metal as quickly as possible!
I don't know how you get stone quickly.. because even on max builder research you need 4 stone per brick foundation upgrade and so far most of the stone comes from stone nodes on the ground... very few in houses and POI.
+10 pick, very fast, 3 swings to mine a stone node. Don't make more foundations than you absolutely have to.
Right now it's almost as though they want you to stop playing once you're set up. It's weird. One night things were starting to be a challenge and then the next night it was raining butchers. It was an unbelievably drastic jump and now I'm wondering how, with finite resources, am I supposed to play this game as long as I want to? I want a horde game which is sustainable. Trees need to grow back, you know?
