need a way to get resources faster
would be great if you could get more resources using the right tools, for instance, vines are a huge problem getting 1-2 per bush would be great if when using a knife on bushes you would get a lot more vines per bush, same for the axe 2 logs per tree is kinda rubbish would like to see 5 logs for small trees and 10 for the larger ones at least

I don't think that they'll boost the resources gather anymore honestly.

Yeah, some kind of machinery would be cool. Chainsaws, auger's, etc. But I can't really tell what their intention with this game is as of yet.

If its to just escape ASAP, I can't see any kind of longevity. Not asking for a 7DTD clone, but a road map would be cool to see.

If you play long enough you'll realize that there already are ways to get resources faster. Fill out your research tree and upgrade your tools.

You also need to realize that the game intentionally tries to put some time pressure on the player. You have to efficiently spend your time between looting, resource gathering, building, exploration, and hunting.

It is so weird, I've upgraded quite many perks for getting resources but it doesn't seem like having any effect, a tree, or a rock or iron , they still need lots and lots of hit like 5-11 times iirc, and I have upgraded till -1 last upgrade, or maybe I have to refine the tools ? coz still only +1.

But still, those upgrades doesnt seem helpful,I still feel like hitting whatever resources for quite a long time

*Most* resources are pretty easy to come by mid-game. Keep upgrading (both the tools and the skill tree) and you'll see the difference. One big thing that helps is that demolishing stuff gets basically all your resources back, and maintenance (fixing walls, reloading traps, etc.) costs very little. By Day 5, you'll easily be able to get whatever resources you need and have plenty left over.

Finding stags, owls, and bears to upgrade your weapons, on the other hand...*grumble grumble*

Then something is wrong with your save.

An upgraded pick breaks stone in 3 hits and iron in 5, all of which are coming faster because the swing speed of the pick is faster.

An upgraded axe cuts down small/medium trees in 2 hits and large trees in 3 hits, all of which are coming faster because the swing speed of the axe is faster.

An upgraded nail bat clears shrubs/saplings in 1 hit and the bat swings vary fast.

I get the feeling some people think they need to build gigantic bases in the first few days. You don't. If that's what you want to do then quite frankly you're playing the wrong game.

I only lack master something from the perk for gathering stone/iron, but I get it now
- 6 hits on FAT tree that gives 3 logs
- 4 hits on thin tree that gives 2 logs
Seems like the resources have different nodes, richer one and lesser one. And the hit to yield ratio is precise lol. 1.5x more hits gets 1.5x more yield.

And yea the swing is faster, so that counts.

And also my tools still +2, have to hunt more.
