Horde nights should be controlled with traps, not your weapons. Make the lead up to your base entrance a proverbial minefield of spike traps. Layer upon layer, but make sure you are leaving gaps, because if you completely block the path with spike traps, they'll just come trash your base foundation
If there is a "BIG TARGET" i just throw a molotov or 2 that I can actually craft and they get stunned and then I procede to kill them super easy, and if it is a "BIG TARGET" that you can't kill it like that, you just lure it into the traps because they do more dmg than anything else.
Again right now rifles are useless.
Maybe you can use them to PVP and that's it, but that is such a boring purpose.
NOTE: And yes I normally build a trap around a building that has a zombie boss if it is too far from my base, then I just destroy it and rebuild it. Why again? Because you can craft them again and those are renewable resources. (Depending on the trap) But yes.
