Please add Japanese Voices in the options menu + English Subtitles on FMV Cutscenes

It seems in order to play in Japanese voices. You have to switch the entire game into Japanese (including menus) at the launch menu.

Would be nice to have the actual Japanese Voices selectable in the options menu. So that any language menu version you switch, you can always pick English or Japanese voices easily.

And of course, English Subtitles. I do remember the game having subtitles, but it seems it's only in-game only. Would be nice to have FMV English Subtitles.

Nevertheless, it would be amazing feat if you guys can do this (Just use the English Voices for the Script).

Yes, it does. The original game had a few localizations, Terminal Cut bundles them all together and allows you to choose the language

Just a matter of fudging with the sub files in one of the PODs, I believe. This was actually the result if you applied my Japanese Redub mod before the japanese language option was added in a patch a few months ago.

It should have been in the options in the first place. I don't understand companies always locking voices depending on the language your using (Kingdom Hearts did this, but fortunately people were able to mod the voices by replacing the default English one).

You need to replace the files in the WORLD directory of JAPANESE.POD with the corresponding ones from ENGLISH.POD.

No, when you set the language to Japanese the game uses the localization data from JAPANESE.POD.

I copied and paste it and it didn't work mate. The file on the google drive was named "JAPANESE.POD" so I just copied and replace it on the game's location.

What else do I need to do to make it work?

There was a new update today, so who knows if it's related to that?

Set the language to Japanese. What the modification does is swap the japanese text strings for English ones.

"It didn't work" isn't a very useful problem description, since it can mean anything from "I don't see the subtitles" to "SHODAN took over my computer" and anything in between. Describe what happened.

Okay it finally worked! It seems I glance over the switching the menu to Japanese.

Though the font is a bit different compared to the English one. It's still readable at least.

Thank You! We can finally play the game in both English and Japanese Voices with English Subs. This will be a great 2nd playthrough for sure.

Wish BR2 had JPN audio. It seems the game wasn't released in Japan and only the first game.

Similarly to what happened to Lords of Shadows. 1 Had JPN Dub, and even though 2 was released, it wasn't recorded in JPN dub (ENG only).
