You can also send a support request if this issue persists and you would like us to investigate a fix that may be specific to your individual configuration (this may also help us in identifying why this problem may be occurring on only certain systems). When sending a support request, please run dxdiag from the Windows start (or Run) menu, then choose 'save all information', then include the generated text file as an attachment to your email to support@zigguratinteractive.com.
You do realize that stating this while the players have the exact opposite experience isn't going to console the ones with the problems, right? Sorry if I'm being rude, but I spent the last half hour trying everything under the sun to make it not flicker and it doesn't work, so stating that it works better than the original only rubs the salt in the wound.
They are. In fact, I actually updated my drivers after first seeing the flicker happen; didn't do a thing.
...kinda defeats the purpose of the whole thing and my specs, while not great by any stretch, are mercifully higher than that, but I figured what the hell and lowered it to 720p. The issue remained.
I'm on a single display setup.
Well here's hoping it won't just fall on deaf ears.
For what it's worth, I found out that when using Federico Dossena's Wine3D for Windows (one of the things I tried in vain hope of fixing the problem), the logo movies (Ziggurat, TR, Infernal engine) almost didn't flicker at all, but the flicker came back at the end of the IE logo and stayed for the intro.
I actually suspect that the flicker is happening because I have an AMD GPU.
Have you tried disabling the GOG Galaxy overlay and other GOG Galaxy features from the Galaxy client? GOG generally makes sure in their own QA that these are fully compatible with a game, but there's always the possibility it won't work with every system.
Thank you for specifying, we'll take this into account and see if we see any other reports from users with similar hardware.
I am playing the game on steam.
EDIT: I don't seem to be able to even enable the GOG Galaxy overlay in BR1TC... but it works without a hitch in BR2TC and doesn't introduce any flicker.
Thanks for the additional info, we'll make sure this is all forwarded to the developer (and your dxdiag if you sent to the support email) and see if we can track it down.
in BloodRayne 2 there is no such problem, and there, judging by the files, the same version of bink
(Windows 10 20H2)
Sorry for the settings going by so quickly, but if you pause the video at the beginning, you can see them quite clearly.
And before you ask: no, the language doesn't matter, it was the same in the English version.

Thanks so much for taking the time to record, this is incredibly helpful. I'll get this sent over to Terminal along with your DXDiag and the notes from your email. We really appreciate it.
Updated all drivers.
Even went as far as updated codecs for video just in case.
Flickering and Freezing all over.
Actually it's dangerous to some people as I am aware. Might cause seizures and stuff
