Question about the explicitness of the Tsukihime graphics
I've been reading an English translation of 2000 Tsukihime. I'm really following its story, but I'm somewhat bothered that it has some explicit nude scenes, i.e. b-l-o-w-j-o-b and r-a-p-e.

Considering the upcoming official English localization of 2021 Tsukihime some time in 2024, my question is:

Does 2021 Tsukihime has these sexual scenes just as graphic as the original?

Tsukihime R was made for consoles first and foremost, so it doesn't have explicit sex scenes. Now I haven't read either version, but from what I understand it doesn't mean there aren't such scenes in the remake (since some of them might be relevant to the story), and the remake is also a very different beast in that a lot of the story was reworked (think Final Fantasy VII versus FF7R). Also Tsukihime R is more directly relevant to MBTL, since they're set in the same timeline.

Well, I just read from https://tsukihime-en.com/ that its ESRB rating is MATURE 17+.

It states, "Intense Violence, Blood and Gore, Suggestive Themes, and Strong Language."

If anything s-e-x or n-u-d-i-t-y -related is merely labeled as "Suggestive Themes", I'm hoping the o-f-f-i-c-i-a-l localization of "A piece of blue glass moon" is not as graphic or explicit as the original Tsukihime.
The author of this thread has indicated that this post answers the original topic.

hmmm, there was something like that? while i read it more than 20 years ago, i dont think the scenes are very relevant to the story. i would have remembered them otherwise :mbgaan:

Not surprising since the original hails from an era where sex scenes in VNs were mostly to sell rather than to be actually relevant.

I seem to remember at least one of them actually being relevant to plot, if only as a 'wham' moment to show just how off the rails things were going with regards to the possession and give cause for some of the other characters to think they were too late to save Shiki.
It's been a while though, since I refreshed on Tsukihime in general.

Fate technically has Tsukihime beat in that regard anyway as there is a 'but thou must' threesome in it that was pretty much necessary to prevent loss conditions for the heroes, and iirc one of the other routes had sex basically required to prevent one of the characters from self-destructing. Mind you, it was clear excuse plot, but at the same time, it was logical enough in the setting without seeming truly forced.

Type-Moon at least TRIED to work the sex into the plot in a coherent way, instead of just 'they banged' out of nowhere.

Wait a minute, the word "sex" is no longer censored in this forum, is it?

I know this is many months later and probably a joke, but that is not true.
