I see now, Eltnum is just Sion's surname. Previously miswritten as Eltnam. Just like Seong Mina from SoulCalibur, firstly miswritten as Seung Mina. Cool, that confirms both games are in the same universe, making a full crossover easier to happen.
Both series run on completely different supernatural phenomena (vampires for Melty Blood, In-Births for Under Night). If both of these things existed in the same universe, wouldn't that be mentioned? Kinoko Nasu (writer of Tsukihime, the visual novel that Melty Blood is based off) loves worldbuilding. If vampires, Dead Apostles, magic, In-Births, Voids, and Re-Births all existed in the same universe, he'd definitely have been sure to mention that.
Plus, there's another guest character in Under Night In-Birth, Akatsuki from Akatsuki Blitzkampf. He comes from an alternate, World War II-esque 21st century. You mean to tell me that Akatsuki Blitzkampf and Under Night In-Birth take place in the same universe just because Akatsuki's in both games? They can't because the world is vastly different in both games. Eltnam and Akatsuki are just guest characters. There's not much to them lore-wise, they're just there for fun.
Eltnum isn't Eltnam. It's the same as if they had a business in the background named WcDonalds. Her story mode is also French Bread dunking on Nasu for abandoning Tsukihime/Melty and forcing them to look for other things to do while they wait for him to get around to writing more of it. It only took a dozen years but it finally happened.
