I hate censorship

First they censored the gore like in Dead Apostle Noel's intro and now they're censoring Ushiwakamaru's costume.

Melty Blood is a spin-off of Tsukihime, an extremely gory and sexual visual novel. Why are they trying to make an adult franchise family friendly? Both Tsukihime and Fate had explicit sex scenes. In the old Melty Blood games there was an alley stage covered in blood and human corpses. Now they're censoring gore while Mortal Kombat and Samurai Shodown have no problem with it, now they're censoring skin while KOFXV and SF6 have no problem with it. Juri in SF6 almost wears the same thing Ushiwakamaru wears in Fate and she didn't need to be censored.

I think that marketing adult only franchises to kids is kind of messed up. It's like when Robocop was marketed to kids with a cartoon and toys despite being an extremely gory R18 movie. If something is adult, keep it adult, so keep Melty Blood gory and sexy.

possibly because it's a game they expect to be the centerpiece at fighting game tournaments like EVO which demand the censorship.. I'm not saying it's right or that they should be doing this, but that might be their mindset

In my post I said that other fighting games have no problem with it. EVO doesn't demand censorship. People wear bikini costumes while playing SFV at EVO all the time. KOF and Soulcalibur are allowed at EVO despite having females in extremely revealing costumes, even clothing destruction. Mortal Kombat and Samurai Shodown are allowed despite how gory they are.

Though I do know that at EVO Japan they turn on censorship of the gore for Samurai Shodown. They could have done that for Melty Blood, just add a censorship option instead of forcing the censorship on everyone.

And I hate how every fighting game has to be esports now. Only a small percentage of players go to tournaments. You should market your game to fans, not to esports.

The default is certainly disappointing but perhaps her pallete can be fixed in color customization and devs make sure it's possible.

Arc gets cut into pieces in the VN and theres alot of rape in it too is this what u want in the game? sure lets just add fatalities to melty blood while were at it

Of course, it would cool if Arcueid actually got cut into 17 pieces when Shiki performs his super on her if it's the finishing blow on the last round. Mortal Kombat and Samurai Shodown have fatalities, why can't Melty Blood have fatalities?

But that's not the subject of this thread, I was talking about what got censored in the game, not about what isn't in the game.

Isn't this game also on soystation? This is most likely soyny's fault with their new anti-anime guidelines.

Apparently ripping someones head off and shietting on it is okay (Mortal Kombat), but a little female anime skin is treated as the devil, smdh.

No Mortal Kombat fatality is as I previously described but u get the idea (though i'm not too far off lol).

What they did to Ushiwakamaru is enough for me to not give a damn about this game after today, shame, but ima keepin' me money.

Melty Blood is literally based on pornographic visual novels.

But I'm not a porn addict, wanting female characters to be sexy doesn't make you a porn addict. I just think it's unfair that male characters like Urien in Street Fighter are allowed to wear nothing but a thong but female characters have to be all covered up.

Your point being? Melty Blood has never been a pornographic game. At that Tsukihime has also deviated from being an adult visual novel with the remake which Type Lumina is based on.

I'd even say the claims of censorship to pander to kids is a reach considering you can play as a scantily clad loli that moans whenever she's hit, I'd say that's a lot more than some underboob.

That was in Street Fighter V, they did it because ESPN demanded it. But I heard ESPN doesn't do esports anymore and Juri is nearly topless with insane jiggle physics in Street Fighter 6 so I thought it was sign that fighting game devs were done censoring their games for esports.

I just claimed it's a non-issue, I couldn't care less if every character had their bazungas hanging out. It's really not that big of a deal.
