If you can't find something, it's because:
- it's a rumor
- it's a lie

If anything, I've heard it probably won't because of how much it would take to translate into the languages they'd want for a PC release (which would include at least English and Chinese).

But you don't need to be super familiar with the Tsukihime to enjoy this game. In fact, the fact that Type Lumina has an English release shows that they expect many players to not be familiar with Tsukihime, since Tsukihime has no official English release (though I believe a fan translation of the Switch version is in progress).

However, if you are actually really interested in reading Tsukihime for itself at some point, it's worth noting that some of the characters qualify as spoilers (and for one of them, their name alone is a spoiler even if you don't read anything about them).

That and prequels are usually retcons of actual story which in itself is spoilery. I heard Nasu said that steam release needs multilingual support and that's too expensive, but the guy I watched the other day said he now sees that japan only consoles only release was a failure and wants to do a steam release.

Somehow I think they only did it cause it's easier to translate, not because they don't expect people to not be familiar with Tsukihime as it's even advertised on the store page that the game is based on Tsukihime like it actually is something you can casually buy.

Tbh I can read it in Japanese allright, but getting games from Japan is a ♥♥♥♥♥ and expensive. But it's not even on PC or steam. There's this trilogy called Silverio Vendetta which is on steam only in Japanese, but Nasu just don't do half measures. Guess a true fan will move to Japan and buy a switch, lol. Apparently Fate is pirated too much for his liking (steam release would help tho). Hopefully in the far far future when he does do a steam release Melty will have Ryougi Shiki in it again and still has some playerbase.

^A quote from Nasu.
Anyway, I hope TM stops being blind and notices that VNs can be read outside Japan, and that PC is a very important platform.

Nasu said while being interviewed separately & I quote..

Why are you releasing Tsuki R on the Nintendo Switch and PlayStation 4?

Takeuchi: As I already mentioned before, I was personally planning to release the game for the PC until a few years ago. But a lot changed when Nasu said "Nowadays games are only taken seriously when they're played on consoles."

Now here's Nasu:

Nasu: Your choice of platform is something you must put pride in. With that being said, I believe nothing compares to the experience of playing a classic visual novel on a console. I put a lot of my soul into that text, with beautiful visuals and songs to match, so I want you to play it connected preferably to a large TV screen. I know that's the creator's ego talking, but I wanted you to play under the best conditions possible on your first experience with TsukiR. So I asked Takeuchi for a console release.

So Nasu doesn't care about PC as a platform, so F_ck em.
(He has a rabid enough fanbase that will literally buy anything he throws out)

He tells you he wants you to play on a big screen, despite the fact that he's releasing Tsukihime & Mahoyo on a platform that's only sports 7" screen.

This was either done to A. Stop Piracy(Unlikely, Tsukihime got emulated on Day One!).

B. Nasu is too full of himself - His ego is so overly inflated that he thinks he can just tell you to go out and buy a $300-400$ console just to read a a virtual book lmfao.. For $60 extra dolalrs no less & even worse if you're importing out of Japan.

C. He's a Liar - I lean towards this.

He made Takeuchi cancel the PC release outright from development, he claims he wants you to play this on a TV, but in the same interview he says:

I once played TsukiR on a 50-inch TV and the impact was immense... If you can go that far, playing on at very least a 24-inch monitor is more than enough to make me happy.

So he thinks Visual Novels should be played on big screen TVs so much, but also tells you that a 24" monitor is good enough experience?

His entire argument goes out of the window from that point. His Ego is just so massive, that he says Tsukihime & Mahoyo are for old school Type Moon fans, all of which were PC Gamers at that time and bought his novel on PC.

Without PC he would be nothing, no platform, no success & he chooses to disregard the PC Platform. I'm a Type Moon fan, but PC is my platform of choice. It rules above all, and as such I'm not going to buy Tsukihime/Mahoyo if they're not going to be properly sold on PC because Nasu's ego is over-inflated.

Now Tsukihime sold 250k+ copies at full price, so they made 15mil which was easily one of the most profitable games made when it came out simply because you don't need a big Dev team to make a visual novel & the code is mostly HTML + text.

So I doubt anything will change, Fate/Extra Record will release on PC i'll buy that because it's on PC, Tsukihime/Mahoyo will be consumed wether Nasu wants to give me the option to willing take my money or not.

-Nasu

Stop the cap?

Nasu just thinks his ego is that big. There's no real reason to X PC & he contradicts himself in interviews over the question.

Takeuchi basically said Nasu single-handedly canceled PC Development of the game bc "games are only taken seriously when they're played on consoles." as if the PC release would somehow drag down Tsukihime's image on console.

With Mahoyo official English release (which is good sign for us) I think that there is some chance of Steam realise for both Mahoyo and Tsukihime but it will take long time, especially for the second one. I'm almost sure that Nasu gibberish about screen sizes is just smokescreen for some real reasons, they propably want limit the piracy by this and trying to squish as much money as they can from the console versions before PC release. Steam would be also totally new market for Type-Moon and they need time to prepare for it as a company (like marketing wise, I know that huge marketing doesn't look much necessary with they case, but we don't know how they see things with stuff like that). Extra record will be first full fledged Type-Moon game on this new waters with which they will propably test things out and start looking on the PC numbers and environment more seriously, then they will make next decisions.
