However, French Bread is small, they had to resprite everyone by hand into the HD style, balance and rebalance Melty characters with the new system mechanics, shoehorn 3 new characters into the franchise, and they've got TM and Delightworks on their neck so it very well could have been them pushing the price of the game and not FB.
Finally, the DLC isn't that serious, it's just announcer voices and an art book, not a day 1 Season Pass, what's the problem with that? Why do people keep mentioning it as "Day 1 DLC" like it's 5 characters they'll be missing out on like GGST? I honestly think the Day 1 DLC trend has people traumatized, and I can't even blame them.
I agree with you here. I also think this was most likely the case, and I really want to believe they deserve the money, but even with street fighter 5 when it came out it wasn't the biggest heartbreak if the game wasn't perfect because we all knew it would change. This is how modern fighting games seem to be.
For instance I have base street fighter on PC. I play akuma, i like akuma, I dont need to re-buy the game when new characters come out. It makes no difference to me what system/version I play it on. In melty bloods case wont I just be paying $50 for the next "expansion" when the next game comes out? I would honestly just rather DLC characters so I can still play the same game and same character without it being dropped by every single person. Instead I gotta fork over another $50. Thats too much for this kind of system.
And for what it's worth, Street Fighter II on the SNES launched at $60 in 1992 (~$110 in today's money) with just eight playable characters.
Nero has no place in this game, this is a melty blood game, not a Fate game, outta here with that ♥♥♥♥♥ lol. Btw, I love Fate, but we need more characters that belong to this franchise, we have enough with the cash cow blue saber.
oh boy.... go easy on him guys.
Nero Chaos. NRVQSR or however it's written.
You are aware that there is a Character in Melty named Nero.

But yeah, putting in Saber over someone superior like Nero or someone more recogniceable like Mash is really a bummer.
and Ken shouldnt be considered an echo imo, he is an entirely different char
All chars can do the universal BcBc combo, but other than that i think they all play differently to a degree, that youll prefer certain chars over others by a long shot, but i agree that the roster shoudlve contain about 5 more chars (i prefer compact metas, i dont like having too many chars tbh)
*sweats in saber main*
It was a 15 dolar purchase for me so I don't mind.
