Like greatsword says "20 stamina" which seems to fit pretty much with how fast your bar disappears.
Yeah i see what you mean.
The focus is a stat for how much focus you get, how its calculated im not entirely sure.
I got almost 100 focus with an 82 focus weapon and 9 hits, with a 16% focus gain buff, which assuming that 82 focus means you get 8.2 focus per hit + the buff then it would be 95.1 focus, which seems to fit.
I tried my 60 focus greatsword and it also seemed to track pretty close to that ratio, taking me around 5 hits to get 33% of the way.
it could also be a % of damage but i dont think so.
so its definitely not on hit the focus, i just didnt realize how huge the values were, its some sort of scaling of some kind is all i can say.
basically my 82 weapon got me focus far quicker than my 60 weapon, but how much faster can only be guessed.
This guessing game is not really fun.
keep in mind charged strikes add more focus per hit. parrying will get you 100 instantly. as you get deeper into the game youll see more equipment pop up that increases focus gain among other things - just in general the game really opens up in possibilities once you unlock more "difficulty" tiers.
what are difficulty tiers? after each main boss cleared the map enemies reset. this is how you know you've gone up a tier and you'll notice new items dropping and requiring lv11 or 21, etc. and this is why 60 focus per hit would be crazy because right now with just normal and charged attacks I generate a ton of focus and it's largely a non issue. this is with a 1 hand sword too (regular blood stain sword) on top of that some focus abilities absolutely melt everything. being able to use a focus attack after 1 swing would trivialize the game completely.
so dont sweat the early game too much. if you really want to be shooting off focus abilities left and right in the early game start using parries more often.
All you need to understand is more is better for focus.
