Music puzzle confusion (minor spoilers for one puzzle)

I solved this puzzle weeks ago, but due to lack of ammo in the final area I had to start from an earlier save. Today I finally did that, and so I had to solve this puzzle again.

I couldn't do it. I'm listening to this record repeatedly, going back and forth, experimenting with different combinations until I was completely satisfied it matched, and nothing. This is confusing because I did exactly what I would have done last time, which worked.

But it gets more confusing, because when I looked up how to solve the puzzle, the website (a site called NoobFeed) gave me a solution that contained 7 notes instead of 6. I don't remember that at all and I can't make sense of it. On top of that, it just doesn't sound like the record.

So what's going on here? I'm at a loss to the point where I feel like I got incepted or it's the mandela effect or something. I think the developers must be actual warlocks because they altered reality through the game to scare me in real life.

It might be different if set to another region or language perhaps?

Or the 7 notes referenced might be the fact that you have 7 different notes to choose from when making your own input.

Yes, the puzzle uses only 6 inputs

Try to divide it up into the two sequences, there's a slight pause inbetween. So 3 notes, slight pause, then the other 3 notes.

The puzzle uses the same 3 notes for both sequences. So you can ignore the other 4

The end of the first sequence and the start of the second sequence is the same note.

Exactly, the only part where my experience doesn't accord with yours is using the same 3 notes for both sequences. I used one different in the second. So that explains why mine didn't work, but it doesn't explain the website.
