The auto aim is tricky?
Like it or not, that's a byproduct of the fixed camera angle.
You can also show horror without gore and relying on mental illness tropes...but it's their artistic license to do so.
- I also felt the aiming was a bit off, the character is kinda slow to ready the weapon on button press and back dodge was not very responsive, I mean, there's either a great delay between pressing R1/RB + square/X or a "cool off" time to perform the move again
- walking animation is very weird, looks like she was hopping instead of walking. However, if you move the left stick just slightly, Caroline will walk normally, I felt this should be the normal walking animation, only faster. Also, I don't know if it just wasn't implemented in the demo, but she did not run while holding the correspondent button.
- character modelling is really, really off, I felt like the character model is from an anime game, and her outfit just doesn't fit the scenery and atmosphere at all. The Father model was laughable, specially his face. He looked as if he was made from wax and first time I saw him, I actually thought he was a monster lol.
-the nudity at the beginning was cheap fanservice and completely unecessary
-when the character health is on danger and the inventory is open the controller vibrates along with the heartbeats, this is very annoying and distracting. I really think there should be an option to disable that.
-also I noticed a technical goof on the valve pressure puzzle: on the piece of paper stuck to the generator and the pressure gauge, it should read "kg/cm²" (mass per area, or pressure) instead of "kg/cm", which doesn't make any sense in this context.
The only one who have sexualised thoughts are you.
Also like her outfit and main weapon, it's a nice standout design.
It's important the main character of a horror game is recognizable and I think they nailed that, pardon the pun.
Combat is kinda ok but a bit dull. Found out you can jump back with the run button way too late.
Worst part for me are the monster designs and their animations, especially the hit and dying animations, they are pretty terrible. I hope at least the animations get polished for final release because they look pretty cheap.
Environments are gorgeous however and the camera angles are also good.
Music is very solid, no real complaints here.
I love survival horror and it's nice to see something more akin to the genre classics instead of all the boring 1st person, "oh no, I can't defend myself", type of games.
Ummmm... nope.
Sure.
Showing breasts is nothing what should be wrong. It's a normal part of a woman's body.
Thanks, I don't know why there are people attacking others on here for pointing out that the nudity didn't feel right in the game. There are different ways of featuring nudity in many formats and it's as easy to feature nudity in an artistic way or showing it as a necessary part of a narrative, as it is to show it in a sexualised way.
I also agree with you that the female character's outfit was pretty odd but it didn't bother me that much.
I have played numerous fixed camera angle games and I'm used to this causing issues with combat but I just found that there were more issues than expected in this game - the weapon aiming and firing just felt sluggish to me.
I really like this game otherwise and I'm looking forward to playing the full title.
The whole article is ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥. Especially the "what if man would be posing like women". A man has other 'sexual dimorphism' as a woman. So the way the secondary sex characteristic are shown are complety different. AND the male body is more 'sexualized' then the one of a woman, especially in video games or movies.

Explaining the male gaze and the incomparable female gaze doesn't mean that the way nudity is featured here is objectification.
You haven't at all demonstrated that at is. In fact, your original post in this thread doesn't even acknowledge that the male gaze exists. You just dismissed nudity, period, so it's very disingenuous for you to circle around now and act as though that the manner of FEATURING nudity is important when in reality, you didn't want the nudity there at all.
So, I'd recommend if you're genuinely interested in exploring these topics, and making these arguments, actually delve into them a bit further. And start by not using this hack article. It does link to a few primary sources so you can begin with those.
I don't know why you made a thread ending with a preemptive attack against other people by making the presumption that support of nudity in the way equates to "excitable fanboys" as you put it. But presumably, you were looking to attack people, otherwise, you wouldn't have ended your post like that.
No one's saying you can't have nudity in a video game, but it's pretty unnecessary how long that shot of Caroline in the tub goes on for.
