Lost fuel while in space - Game over?
So I'm flying at 600 m/s and got no fuel cause I missed the planet I supposed to land. I think the gravity of the planet sent me away. So now I have no energy to deacelerate and go back, just wondering in empty space. Game over for me?

Let me do the math here....carry the 2......
Are you out of fuel-generating items in your suit too? If so, reload.

If not, either reload or wait a long time to recharge and try again.

The mech will always passively charge, even without fuel, but it will take a very long time. You will eventually be able to slow to a stop and then get moving towards either your home planet or a planet with coal that you can use as emergency fuel. However, if you get stuck in the gravity well of a gas giant, you will actually have to reload because it will drain your power reserves automatically as the game forces you to use thrust. It will generally be faster to load an autosave if you're stuck drifting in space regardless.

Edit: Never mind, gas giants can now give you fuel so you can escape them and there are no true softlocks aside from somehow using all icon/copper/stone on your homeworld before unlocking sail mode.

Space does not forgive mistakes like that. Either reload, or land on another planet and mine coal. Or wait for mecha to recharge passively which will take 10-60 minutes and fly back.

They actually just 'fixed' this in the last major update. The Icarus can now extract fuel directly from gas giants while hovering - turning giants into usable emergency pit-stops in most systems.

600 m/s isn't too fast, just wait for your mech to refuel as you slowly turn, I wouldn't worry about slowing down, it'll cost more energy to slow down and speed up again, just turn. It'll be a little slow, but this exact thing happened to me when I first started playing.

When the game gives you lemons, you build a planet-sized Lemonade Factory spanning half a Galactic Cluster.

You got this.
I realize it's too late now but reload your darn autosave... idk about you guys but I'm generally not flying around long enough for an autosave to happen let alone 3 or 4 so I always have a backup plan not that I will probably ever need it in late game but it's still nice to have it.
Replaying from the lastest autosave takes less time than creating this post.
reload recommended to save on time but unless you're stuck on a black hole or something, you can still save this one. having no fuel in the inventory doesn't mean you don't produce energy, so turning around is entirely possible with patience
