As someone who plays on stick, I'd get one if I had the money. Will probably end up making the switch this year.
If you have a keyboard, no need for a Hitbox.
But the Hitbox has clearly the advantage of having no unnecessary keys (would not recommend pulling out key caps on a rubberdome keyboard :D) :)
Oh and if the OP wants to play local tournaments, a Hitbox will work with a PS5, since a lot of tournaments are played on Playstation rather than PC.
You can turn off all the keys you are not using or even give you an advantage by having multiple buttons doing the same thing. Also, keyboard is plug and play in PS5. You would have to do the programming on PC unless you've rooted and installed windows on your PS5.
Depends on the keyboard. My current one I have to be careful because it is extremely sensitive. I breathe on a key it presses.
If you're using modern, it doesn't matter really.
made the switch to hitbox just last year as the pad would give my wrist some problems after long sessions of play. was deciding between the box or an arcade stick, ultimately went with the hitbox as going stick would just give me the same wrist problems my pad was giving me.
Hitbox just feels so much better to use during long sessions as my hands are more relaxed.
