Why do you think SF6 struggling with sales?
In 3 months (from july through september) it managed to sell only 470k copies across all platforms.

https://www.eventhubs.com/news/2023/oct/26/sf6-sold-247-million-copies/

When it sold 1 mil copies in its first week and 2 mil copies in its first month.

Since then it's like the game lost all hype, interest and relevance.
Even with dlc releases (Rashid and Aki) they managed to scrap only 470k.

For comparison, Tekken 7 five years after being released still sold 1 mil copies in 6 months.

From June to December of 2022.

https://x.com/Harada_TEKKEN/status/1531893312306683905?s=20

https://x.com/Harada_TEKKEN/status/1601849013069750273?s=20

And this was made with no new dlcs during that time.

Even with dlc releases SF6 loses to Tekken 7 with no dlc releases.

Considering the constant and drastic loss of momentum I doubt SF6 could sell even 250k copies from october through december. And they will sit around 600k-700k at most in these 6 months.

Even if by some magic they manage to get the exact same number as they did from the 3 months before (470k) the total will still be below 1 mil. Below Tekken 7.

And we talk about SF6 in its peak times. Compared to a game in its last cycle.

I wonder how hard Tekken 8 will dominate this game.

I might be under-selling it, but I think I still have an argument. Compared to innovations like SF6's World Tour, MK1s robust single player story mode & Invasions, GBFV:R's Fallguy's mode and training assistants and Project L's attempts to incorporate a team play element into the genre, a simplified control scheme and an online lobby mode seem anemic by comparison.

Not saying all these ideas from other games are going to land, but the effort is at least visible in a way where it's not with Tekken.

Hmm, i dunno. I heard T8 will have expanded story mode and a crap ton of extra modes such as volleyball, tekken force, etc. I guess we'll see.

I hope you're right. I haven't gone looking for Tekken content (just tapping into game industry articles here and there), so maybe there's stuff beyond what I've listed. I'd certainly welcome more content.

Nah, someone who was 'born yesterday' would be so unable to manipulate the world with their little neonate arms and hands that they would resort to making the same annoying noise over and over again, repeatedly and endlessly, to whine for attention.

Maybe I'm the minority but I never cared for single player content in fighters, I didn't even play World Tour, I just uninstalled it. I just want to play people online

You're a very disappointing troll. At least some of the other trolls here have like, personality and entertainment factor. You on the other hand just drop a big steaming pile of feces on people's carpet with a completely straight face, and wait to see what their reactions are to it like a mutt.

Easy answer: the lack of content. SF6 is a bit boring now. just a pure little roster of 20 fighters in 6 months! Sf6 is still much better then the unfinished MK 1 garbage but when there is no new content (more fighters? more Story? only some fighting pass Goodies is no new content...) it starts to getting very boring over the time. This is the Chance now for Granblue Fantasy Versus Rising (28 fighters from start) to do it much better then SF6 before the Tekken 8 release in January with a roster of 32 fighters, classic arcade story movieendings for each fighters not just bad painted comic pics, main story mode and more.

the kind of folks that want more #content this soon after release are just too zoomer-brained.

They need some kind of constant drip feed of content they purchase to pave over the fact that they are not as into the game they think they are into - and have replaced "enjoying a thing" with "buying things for the game".

Consumer-rot brain. I must buy a new thing because the only way to prove I'm into something is by spending money.

The release date is the day/week when expected sales will be the highest.

470k for the last 3 months isnt that bad; an extra 32mil.

sf4 at launch (console version at least) had 25 characters. I think the initial 18 in SF6 is really paltry. The roster feels too light and lacks too many fan favourites, no 4 kings, no sakura etc.

I think the new designs are abysmal which doesn't help either and something about the game feels really sanitised, the lack of fan service is really noticeable. 30 years from now nobody will remember Marisa, Manon or Kimberley, these are boring throw away trash designs that won't make it into SF7

No balance patches for a near 6 month old game is not acceptable either, capcom need to get with the times, a balance patch once a year is not enough

And yet you bought the game knowing it'd launch with 18 characters and have 4 DLC characters in its first year. You bought it knowing what the new designs for the old cast looked like. Sounds like a user problem to me.

sure I'll just stick to SF4 or SF5 because I didn't like the base roster for SF6 and the lack of characters

oh wait, I can't, because those games are dead online. If I want to play SF online I've no choice but to play the latest game, that's how it works

Consider seeking a Discord server. Through a quick google search, I found a USF4 Revival discord with approx 1100 members online right now. Maybe one of them will play with you.

Discord was a boon to me when I was looking for people to ruin my day in GG Rev2.

Too much effort, maybe one day the arcade build will be emulated and available on fightcade. The pc version sucked also after it lost the GFWL frontend (ironic I know).

I play cvs2 on fightcade occasionally because well, that game is awesome

I've got a cure for that issue too. Find a local and go to it. Preferably one in another city that requires a bit of travel and planning.

You will never again feel like finding and using a discord server is too much effort.

I live on a tiny island of about 100k people, I have no local FGC scene, it's online or nothing for me
