Do you like 1994's Street Fighter The Movie?
The one with Jean Claude Van Damme and Raul Julia (who was a great Bison despite the film script). Well... I love a good accidental comedy, the "so bad it's good" type, like The Room, Samurai Cop and Mortal Kombat Annihilation. I can say Street Fighter The Movie is one of my favourites of that... "genre". Any other trash film appreciators here?

I'm not going to knock a man's final performance that he signed on for out of love for his kids, as, indeed, he was literally dying.
Nobody is disrespecting Raul Julia, people never related its failure to him. The movie is trash cult because the script is so ridiculous that it is funny.

Instead of a new film I prefer a good live action like One Piece. Regardless, I hope it's well done and they DON'T create a protagonist like Alice in Resident Evil film or that Cole Young in the new Mortal Kombat film.

But I doubt it'll be as memorable as 1994's Street Fighter film, it's just so much fun to watch. The Chun Li film is boring, not the "so bad it's good" type.

I highly recommend researching the history of that movie. It's a miracle a finished, semi coherent film made it out of production.

Raul Julia deserved so much better. Some of his lines and delivery in that film are worthy of being placed alongside Hollywood's most iconic moments (all while he was dying).

"Watching the film, you can see Julia’s declining health is carefully concealed by makeup and wide shots. The frail and sinewy figure that materialized at that dinner in Bangkok appears only in a laboratory scene from week one of production. This Julia’s cheeks are sallow, his eyes floating like moons in space.

“He was extremely underweight,” says Chapa, “and they’d put this massive suit on him. When we were rehearsing he was down, but as soon as they said ‘action,’ this great actor came to life in this body that wasn’t what it used to be. For me, it was beautiful [...] You hear that saying, ‘the show must go on’ — let me tell you, Raul Julia — to his last breath he was acting.”

Rest in peace, Raul Julia. You've taught countless people around the world that just because you're in a crap movie doesn't mean that you can't show up and pull off an amazing performance that will be remembered for years to come. May whatever afterlife you might have found after you left us treat you kindly. :saltytears:

Raul Julia was great also in Kiss of the Spider-Woman and The Adamms Family 1 and 2.

Man that movie is awesome.

My favorite scene is when Ryu and Ken are watching a monitor of a security camera and they see a military vehicle about to crash into their building, and Ken says "Quick! Turn off the TV!" like it's going to stop the car from crashing into them.

They made Ryu and Ken so goofy in that and it's awesome to see them that way for once.

Let's not forget the classic Zangief line "QUICK Change the channel!"
Obviously, "For me it was Tuesday" is solid gold, but Julia's "LIKE LIGHTNING" line often goes underappreciated by comparison. I get literal chills from it.
Also the line and gesture of Bison mocking Sagat with the "I guess you didn't SEE that, did you?" line was entirely ad-libbed by Raul Julia.
it's so bad is good. Raul Julia is a legend
People often highlight Bison and Zangief, which is fully deserved by the way, but one of the most underrated lines was from Dee Jay saying he should've stayed at Microsoft, I actually spat out my drink after hearing it the first time.
