My concern with the removal of throw loops...
I know many people want them removed, but as someone who plays Mai, her entire kit is based around throw loops. If you remove them from the game, she goes from somewhat viable to trash tier because you just removed a vital part of her kit.

So I really hope Capcom thinks very carefully abotu what changes to make in season 3 because I would hate for my sweetheart to be literally unplayable.

I doubt throw loops are going anywhere. They're an integral element of the mind games aspect of the genre. Throws are an essential answer to blocking to ensure blocking isn't over valued as an answer.

For those who are beleaguered by throw loops, delayed tech can beat strike & throw on your wake-up and get you back on your feet. Like any answer though, you don't want to overuse it and be predictable.

Those are the people who beat me: those who can break out of throws and counter fan pressure.

In unlikely case Capcom would remove throw loops, obviously it would have to come with a rebalance of characters. That's why it would have to be part of big gameplay update, rather than a normal patch.

Mai is a baby mode character / scrub killer. Every fan she throws has a built in mixup.

I hope you get bored playing her soon, and also I hope the general population below low master figures out how to deal with her cheap stuff. And then hopefully everyone else will get bored with her.
SFV originally had meaty throw loops and they were removed, I don't see why it couldn't be done in SF6. Yes it means some characters need to be rebalanced to compensate for the change, but there are going to be more balance changes anyways.

I think we're stuck with throw loops though, at least for SF6. I don't think throw loops need to be in this game, but Capcom seems to want them to stay.

You might as well remove Mai from the game if you remove throw loops.

Or just buff/change some of her other tools? It would make her more interesting to play and probably less frustrating to fight. I say this as a Cammy/Mai player, throw loops just aren't that interesting to interact with on either side.

We could still have pseudo-loops like Chun has to deal with super defensive players, it just changes the situation a bit so you're less likely to see people go for 5+ throws in a row. Also worth mentioning that it's boring as hell to watch, which is bad marketing for the game.
