the whole ranking and placing system makes ranked pointless anyway, especially when they really reset it at one point.
Not sure how you are getting the stats information from the page given.
EDIT: I should mention i was hardstuck gold in SF5.
Then Plat becomes the hard wall where you get those who get past the first wall and have actually attained some skill, match-up knowledge and fundamentals to the point where they win enough not to downrank even during tilt days.
I do slightly worry that the downrank protection of Gold is going to end up similar to Strive where Floor 10 became this massively bloated place full of people of completely inconsistent skill levels, from the ones lucking out a bit with streaks through real hard monsters that just couldn't be bothered with the Celestial challenge that month.
Guess we'll see, but I suppose the amount of ranks above Gold 1 will alleviate that quite a bit.
