- Fatal Fury shares it's universe with King of Fighters;

I think you might be overthinking it a touch. Especially when some fighting games have considerable trouble staying canon onto themselves. KoF '94 famously retconned all of Art of Fighting because otherwise Ryo would've had to be in his 40s already and Yuri would've been in her mid 30s rather than the little sister of the women's fighting team as AoF for a while was a prequel series to Fatal Fury.

Honestly I’m hype for dj Salvatore because I’ve never been a fatal fury fan and playing as a random guy sounds funny as ♥♥♥♥

I like to imagine that all those games exist in the same universe, but Tekken kind of ruins any possibility of that, since its story impacts the entire world. KOF also has moments that mess things up big time for any headcanon you might have. I don’t know much about DOA or Street Fighter lore, but as far as I know, they don’t start World War III or summon a world-ending god like Tekken or KOF do.
